Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy Review
Hero's Realm does deserve 1 or 1.5 stars, but I think I gave enough reasons for why I disliked this game to such a degree.
> Cheap instakill attacks coming out of nowhere that forces you to constantly have to keep up a supply of revives.
> Tedious first few dungeons with little challenge once you realize one thing: just keep popping phoenix downs, since its a near guarantee that you'll face frequent instakill attacks every bossfight and at random chance in random encounters.
> A world that feels half alive (nearly half of the NPCs will just spout a tip at you, and most of the other dragoons only salute you and say nothing else). Optional world map locations feel lifeless.
For people who can tolerate a repetitive and unfair experience for over a few hours just to get to an actual game, I encourage that you try it as the reviews for that part of the game seem stellar. However, I find it insulting when a game doesn't entertain and instead irritates (it irritated me constantly). When a game has a constantly annoying part (that is all at the start a.k.a a horrible place to shove all the bad parts of a game), it makes me feel like it deserves a low score for actually worsening my mood in a hobby that's supposed to be enjoyable and keeping the supposedly enjoyable part from me until I force myself through annoying work.

Like an abandoned cottage I found that didn't have much besides a potion, gold, and a few rats scurrying around

1.5 is bogus.
I think you're on a low review score trip
I rate games based on enjoyment and gameplay. I didn't enjoy the cheap encounters and bosses that would show up and not being able to save in the middle of dungeons (or right before a boss). Also, there wasn't enough given to me in the beginning that really made the combat fun.
I bought 6 phoenix downs and went through one of the dungeons, but then realized I didn't have enough due to the cheap encounters. I don't think there was a way to warp out of the dungeon, and I already used a save point. At times like these, tedium happens where I have to waste time backtracking to an item shop just to have to meander through the dungeon again. I think 6 was enough, since at that point I had a healer so I thought I would be fine (since I had potions and status curers).
If the review were based on dedication from the creator and apparent size of game, it would be 5 stars. However, I thought the instakills were a bit much and made the early game too unbearable with the sole reason to play being that the late game may have promise.
Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy Review
You both are right in that my review had some bad points.
Turning random encounters off is a bad idea. I still want to be able to reduce the rate, so that if I think my party is up for the next boss, I can just rush for it without having to hear the sound effect and see the zoom in and out on my character sprite then spam escape while hoping the random encounter isn't a cheap K.O. on one of my characters and having to repeat that process until I can get where I need to go.
I should've just googled where to go and not have been stubborn while wasting time.
I also should've tried to interact with the chest in my way at least once.
If the first point mentioned was edited and the second point mentioned was deleted, my review would be less dumb.

I read the book on chocobos once at the beginning and thought that I understood what to do, but then I accidentally went through the dialogue with the King too fast

Hero's Realm Review
If the game used a version of DynRPG compatible with the ATB Overhaul Utility and used it, then it would be tolerable. The game's story is easily ignorable, so the experience would be much better if the combat could just be sped up. Although I would never touch a class with skill names that don't give away the effect of the skill ever again.
Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy Review
The throwbacks to the Final Fantasy series are a nice nostalgia trip. It did emulate the classes, graphics, and mechanics of those games well.
Chocobo riding, summons, black/white magic, character sprites that look like they were ripped from a Final Fantasy game, ATB gauges, etc.

I'm disappointed that I can't have a scenario like Ragnarok still being somewhat powerful during his 200 year rest after feasting on the remains of Jeremy and giving Pandora like all of her skills at lv 1.... (although that wouldn't make sense at all storywise, so I get why that's not in the game). Other than that though... I really enjoy this game and all the effort put into it. I like it when a game has a world that actually fills its world with interesting stuff and takes care not to make backtracking a huge pain (letting me go to the part of "dungeon" areas the story wants me to go to instead of having to walk all the way to the furthest room is very considerate of you). The skills of the characters also make me happy (Damien's "buff" along with the offensive buffs and skills of the other characters makes for a good show). The story is engaging through all the stuff about the characters that I can constantly find without having to go through long amounts of grind and walking around. I still have to explore to find everything, but when I do explore, it's not a chore and I find the extra bits in a short amount of time. I've liked the characters so far and I think they're believable (although I don't know how to cohesively support my reasons for that). The only problem I have is the level caps on the summons and how I have to level each one individually, because I don't want to level the ones with a low lv cap, don't want to grind to keep more than one summon at a decent level, and cannot take a lower level summon into combat and reasonably expect it to survive (a certain someone can't have too much armor on due to their "job", so that means I can't have that certain someone underleveled or else they will get cut to shreds before they can use their "charming" skillset). Overall though, the rate at which I get new skills/characters has satisfied me enough to overlook the fact the issues with summons and just(You had something that helped with this in the game all along... ♥♥♥) I enjoy the game for the engaging and entertaining experience it gives me. Thank you so much for creating this game and offering it for free.
Also, how did Ran teleport out of Elrios and get an identity change in the Abyss?

In the prologue I was able to kill Jeremy after Lumielle came and put him on steroids. If you don't believe me, I cast the dark resistance debuff on all the melee characters that were in the starting 5 party and used the atk buff erase before my 2nd health bar and 2nd set of abilities kicked in. After those kicked in, I cast the silence + poison spell on them and then just spam the dark dmg spell that hits all of them. After the party of 5 fell, I cast the magic atk buff and then cast the single target dark dmg thing on Jeremy until he died while refreshing the magic atk buff whenever it faded. I do not know what to do from this point, as Lumielle seems to take no dmg. Was this intended in the game? Am I unable to progress from this point? Was there supposed to be something special in the main game if I were able to kill Jeremy and Lumielle in the prologue?
