The future of Necropolis:

I really appreciate the work you already put into this project
and dont want to be discouraging, but i like to add my 2 cents:

i can understand the change from rpgmaker to a more mature developing
platform. what i dont understand is the switch to commercial, do you
really think many people nowadays will spend their money on a retro
styled oldschool rpg?

anyway, its your decision and i wish you good luck!

Milestone 4: Character Selection

Thanks for your comments, I'll post details about the skills and other mechanics later on!

Milestone 3: Re-Theme

@mellytan Sorry to let you down, its just too complex for the moment. maybe when the whole foundation (graphics, sounds, music, battlesystem, gamesystem) is ready i could build a real "Fading suns" game on top of it. Right now complexity breaks my neck. I want to complete something and publish a polished game that is fun to play here. Not spend the next 5 years developing something thats too complex to be ever finished (and realizing this fact after 4,5 years wich would result in quitting the project).

Milestone 1: The Foundation

@mellytan Ah thanks! But i think this is more the picture compression than the buildings themselves. You can also see the compression artefacts in the panorama. It looks MUCH better in the actual game. Thanks for your feedback!

PS: working on it, working on it, working on it (and loving it!)

Milestone 1: The Foundation

Yeah that with the houses is right. But i really dont want to use the "standard rooftop houses" from final fantasy.

I guess its not the resolution - its their size right?

does anyone has an idea what kind of houses i could use?

world map, guns and weirdness

I just laughed my ass off because of your ingenious dialog scripting...

take your time, and keep up the good work.

PS: there is an error in your textbox at 10:31

Test the Waters

@Jude

The thing is that your battle system right now is somewhat dominating the game (of course, because we did not see anything else). To make your game really enjoyable it could be one of two poles. the other pole would be something else - map interaction for example.

I can really recommend theese games for inspiration: Gargoyles Quest (gameboy, because of the background world), Demons Crest (SNES, because of the background world and mini games), Sword of Hope (gameboy, becuase of the battle-system). just google them and chew yourself through some walkthroughs (its hard but you learn, even as a game-developer).

* Loved the intro
* Love the sound/music, if you go retro - go retro all the way

I have two days off next week, and i will test your arena some more!
