I honestly believe it can, because I feel like The World Ends With You changed the course of my life forever. I'll never get the exact same feelings I did when playing it, or listening to the songs for the first time, but this game really made me realise a lot of things and helped me get over problems. I wish there were more games like this (I do think Dangan Ronpa and Persona come close to me) because it would be great to have video games with such powerful messages, to all video game developers out there, you have the power to change people! Use it for good!
Everything you just said, I sold all of my DS games at one point except for TWEWY...i just couldn't part with it, it became a memento, an artifact...couldn't let anyone have it even if I could re-purchase it in the future. No my 1st copy will be the last & only. The World Ends With You is my guide to life.
I would have to say not only TWEWY, but I take Kingdom Hearts into such deep literal context. Vagrant Story & A Link To The Past made me into who i am.
A "Boss Reunion" near the Endgame?
"Link's Awakening" for the Gameboy, final boss was a shifting being that was a amalgamation of all the bosses fought in the past dungeons even morphing into Ganon, was pretty awesome (plus the sweet storyline)

Ellen Page as Link would be fuckin awesome, he always had an androgynous look. This choice would piss off fans to no end, they would crucify Nintendo but still would be a cool direction
[Poll] What if Final Fantasy V...
Though I chose Mystic Quest for laughs, FFV is my favorite in the series actually; the character development was way better in the 6th one but the core feeling of adventure was so cool, Bartz was like the Wind & he had a passion to just see what was there in the world. I FUCKIN LOVE LENNA; i whistle Lenna's Theme ever so often, she's gorgeous & sweet but tough, she's like a fusion of Tifa & Aeris. I love when Bartz & Galuf discover Faris is actually a babe lol. The dialog in the game is great, the Job System was the best & ExDeath is the being from the rift that has this surreal objection.
Mystic Quest is a pretty good game tho, it had the build of Zelda with Final Fantasy mixed in. Music was freakin amazing, themes get stuck in your head. Mystic Quest had a basic yet cool narrative.
