NOBODY PANIC, I'M STILL ALIVE! Welcome my friends, to the mother of all late comments. Thank you for coming. The tickets were free, so if you paid anything for them, you've been scammed. I will of course address everyone's comments individually.

A_Tomio- Hey hey, congrats on beating the game! Thirty hours, you say? I'm willing to bet you absolutely obliterated the final boss. I was level 20 when I did it as a point of reference. You may be pleased to hear that I've been buffing a lot of the bosses for the ultimate edition, but not so much as to make them too overwhelming. To tell you the truth, I would've loved to make a postgame, but it would've been difficult to make appropriate movesets and enemies considering where the story ends. Glad to hear you enjoyed it though! The next version will have more content, so hopefully you'll enjoy it even more.

Tacodie- Yo Tac, sorry for the insanely late reply, but if by chance your interest isn't a shambling zombie of its former self, I'd be happy to send you the answers you're looking for through your inbox. Although just a heads up, it might spoil some things about the sequel for you, as all your questions will be answered there. I will say however, that the ultimate edition and Luminous have been developed side by side, though I've been more focused on the ultimate edition for a while now. I have a tendency to be a bit overambitious, but hopefully it'll end up paying off. Ultimate is definitely being released before Luminous though.

scourge and ignotop- Thanks for your concern guys, and I'm sorry if I made you worry. My health...honestly could be better, but I'm not in danger of croaking or anything. Been getting some pretty bad side effects from dialysis but nothing life threatening. Also been working on getting a new kidney and having surgery on my legs to correct their blood flow, so if all that happens I'll be good as new.

I'd like to apologize to everyone for my long bout of silence, but I can assure you you're all going to be stuck with me for a long time to come. As always, thanks so much for your patience, kind words and continued interest in the game. I've been going through a very difficult time in my life for what's going on three years now, what with the medical issues, but you guys have brought me a lot of joy in spite of it, and I want you to know I'll always be grateful. Thanks a million, peeps!

Wheelman! Glad to hear you're... managing? Something along those lines? I wish you the best with all your upcoming medical procedures and hope your health issues will soon be of no concern anymore. I'm also pleased to tell you that my interest for the game, sequel, story and everything still burns hotter than Azzy's flames. No shambling zombies here, they all perished in the fire. So I will take answers if you provide them, nevermind the spoilers. (I'm pretty sure Luminous Soul will still have plenty of surprises either way)
In terms of overambition, I'm sure you'll do great, no pressure. I'm eager to see what you're cooking but take your time. Gotta wait for the oven to heat up before you put in the pizza, if that makes any sense.

Umbral Soul

Hello Wheelman! This is one of the best rpgs I've played (and I'm a picky person when it comes to rpgs)! I absolutely loved the story and can't wait to play the sequel (figuratively of course, I'll wait as long as neccessary. massive props Wheelman for still working on the game despite all your troubles.)

Pros:
Awesome story, great job at making both the light and dark sides neither wrong nor right and actually just as bad as each other.
Great characters, some may need a little more exploration but they're clearly far more complex than good/evil which makes them more relatable. This is made even better by the scenario's. There's 3 scenes that hit my feels the most: Damien's and Marcus' discussion in "calm before the storm", Lanith dying on Pandora after which she ressurects her despite Ragnarok's protests and Azrielle's speech to his subjects after the Kyubirin attack.
The summoning mechanic and the sidequests to hunt down summons is fun and unique.
The unique interactions between party members and seeing the way each of the characters reacts to the situation and the other party members present brings a lot more life into the game. I replayed every story event with every possible party combinations. My favorites are Damien and Marcus (for the feels of regret), Azrielle and Gryger (for the sass and violence) and Damien and Gryger (for the humor).

Cons (honestly from what I have seen these will all be resolved when Ultimate is released):
Some slight mistakes in grammar but nothing too bothersome actually (I probably made grammar mistake as I'm writing this so no biggie).
The mapping like others have already told you.
Getting 100% can be a little tough without a guide (I curse the vampire music room puzzle).

Questions (which you may or may not answer, choice is yours):
Are you developping Ultimate and Luminous Soul simultaneously and will they be released at the same time or is your focus currently on one or the other?
In "Serene Grace, three" Serene gave love advice to Grelda, will she actually succeed in winning Azrielle's heart? On that same note will Owen discover the truth behind Mira and still love her.
Did Athena survive? If she did I expect her to go full psycho and even try and kill the heroes.
Will we see Perseus again after he escaped?
Will Serene finally reach Pandora?
In the Blightsoul mausoleum there's a room where the ancient demons rest and upon investigation Ragnarok, who had been very quiet the entire quest, reacted a little more tame than when he usually speaks. Is this a hint to important lore for Ragnarok or am I simply reading too much into this?
Supposedly there's a queen of fairies in the dark fairy village. Will the heroes meet her?
Is there any use to the bank in Arcfall?
What's the story behind Pandora's chimera? We have backstories for Lanith and Draconus but where did that beast come from?

I believe that's everything and if I do find the need to rant about any more then I'll probably write another post.
Once again: great work and I greatly look forward to playing the sequel someday.
Thus concludes my probaly chaotic review of Umbral Soul, thanks for reading this far.
