Are sequels or remakes allowed?
I will credit the original creator and give a link to the game in the bios. It'll be titled something like "Sonic and the Chaos Dragons Remastered" or "Sonic and the Chaos Dragons Remake" (parody of FF7R).
That's exactly the tone I'm going for. Hopefully people are into it.

No seriously. I agree with not stealing from indies, let alone using original art instead of rips. Or at the least, asking permission and giving proper credit. So something like making the original better than it was with original assets could be a blast.
That's the plan! I'm aiming to make an "enhance" version of this game. Keeping The Cringe™, making some jokes at it's extent, but overall celebrating it and keeping the original vision.

If you were talking about a fan-game of Sonic the Hedgehog, and not an indie/hobbyist title, you'll probably be fine this site. However, since you are talking about an indie/hobbyist title, I'd be inclined to say you should have the permission of the original author. I have no idea how one would be able to provide evidence of such permission, though.
Aside from that, color me curious. Why chose that game, in particular to make a sequel/remake of when there are...let's just say there are arguably better games out there?
No real reason lol. Just played the game was I was younger and find it funny now.

Like the subject says, are sequels or remakes to already established RPG Maker games allowed to be submitted? I just joined. I'm interested in trying to revive the infamous game "Sonic and the Chaos Dragons". I won't try to profit from someone else's work, especially since Sonic the Hedgehog is the central focus. This is just a fun exercise to get to know my engine, RPG Maker MV.
