Going a week without a home internet connection made me realize how I use the internet for almost everything in my life and am useless without it.

I feel this way pretty much every time I move to a new place and suffer through that interim of waiting for them to hook up the net...
Ironically, although I use it so much I am doing perfectly fine without it. Had to drop it for a couple of weeks every now and then.

It's got great uses, but we easily grow dependent on something. I dare mention smartphones ..

Yup, that's why I had no internet. This has been me for the last week:

"I wonder what the forecast is for tomorrow? I'll go check the Weather Networ- oh wait."

"Hmm... I wonder when that new album is coming out? The Wikipedia article should say! I'll just open Chrome and... oh."

"Oh man, I'm bored! I think I'll watch an episode of something on Netfl- oh yeah, damn it..."

And then there's the amount of development stuff for my game that I store online, along with people who I only keep in touch with online for various reasons, and then there's the billion Steam games I have that require an internet connection.

It was a long seven days!
I was without internet one time and it felt good. I realized how many other things I could actually do instead of wasting time on the internet.

Tv and radio can tell you the news/weather. It's not exactly important to know when that album is coming out. I have enough downloads/dvds/tv shows to last a long long time.

It sucks to be without a certain online game at times, but maybe it's good to cut back on gaming? I dunno, as I get older I find the internet less appealing. Gaming too.
It's important to know when the album is coming out when it's your all time favourite band. ;)
Believe it or not, I've only had internet at home since October last year.
And only this year did I start becoming active (since internet shop fees are pretty high).

So you could say that I have survived for ~10 years without internet.
