tbqh the book of revelation is a great source.
Very true. And it can be interpreted in so many ways, too!
Katana, just when I feel sorry for you and you seem okay you sliiiide right back down.
Be nice, you haven't earned the right to be snarky yet

You know, a great level boss would be Jesus with a sword sticking out of his mouth.
Or a sexy lady in red riding a seven headed dragon.
Oh, and giving King Solomon the foreskins of a hundred men! What an item gathering quest that would be!
The Bible had a lot of great love stories so I don't see why taking inspiration from it is a bad thing. Hell, if games could make use of books like Song of Solomon to enhance their romance, that'd be great. You know, more with the language and style, not with the whole "this is actually soft-core porn mum, why are you making me read this... and you wonder why I'm not straight after making me read about a guy espousing the wonders of women at a young age..."
True enough, but so many of the love stories in the Bible are about men being worth more than women or about women being nothing more than property.
Of course, you can always repurpose them, but stories like Samson and Delilah have been so done to death, the original story is a copy of older stories that have been done to death. Then a lot of the best stories from the Old Testament don't even make it into the Christian version.

You can always shake it up and reverse the roles. Does not take much to breathe new life into an old story. Using Samson and Delilah for example.
Samara is the daughter of the Calis tribe - a group of barbarians who hail from the old kings of the land before it was conquered by the city-kingdoms of the west, 70 years ago. Wild, proud and strong, she is tasked to journey to the tribe of Nakis, there to meet and marry the chieftain of the tribe and bring peace to the barbarian clans.
During her travels through the trade city of vices, Dinarka, she meets the handsome son of a local lordling, Dellis and falls head over heels in love, abandonning her quest in order to remain by his side.
During this time, the chieftain of the Nakis tribe, Ilarys, has grown weary of waiting for her betrothed, and sets off to bring back Samara to rule by her side. In the city of Vice she finds that Samara has become ensnared in a game of Lords, with the man she loves being targeted by the leader of a group who seeks to gain power by eliminating opposing houses.
It is up to these three unlikely companions to learn the truth behind the murders and put an end to a game that may spark a war between the houses and enflame a country of men and women who still remember when they were ruled by their own kings.
Can they find the truth behind the murders? What future will Samara choose to follow - that of a woman beholden to a man in a world where words are more dangerous than daggers or as one of many wives to a chieftain of her own people?
