Tries to create game, sees a really good game, play it, know that you're inferior, cry at the abyss as it gazes back at you.

There will always be something better. Strive for quality, but don't destroy yourself by making these sorts of comparisons.
Make games to make the game in your mind exist in this world, not to be the very best, like no one ever was. Don't limit yourself, but don't crush yourself with the expectation that you'll immediately be able to outdo every other game.

Yep, I've been in the "This person half my age is making better stuff in a fraction of the time" spiral before, but you ultimately gotta stop and not worry about it, or else the game you want to make will never come to fruition.
One person's game has better graphics than yours, another has better dungeon design, another has more fluid cutscenes, and so forth.
Your question should be : What does my game do better than others?

My answer is: my game expresses me and no one else can do that
Red_Nova
Sir Redd of Novus: He who made Prayer of the Faithless that one time, and that was pretty dang rad! :D

Sometimes a change in perspective can reenergize a person.

Having dealt with this myself...
1) That person feels exactly the same way about others
2) Keep doing what you were doing anyway. You're never gonna get better if you don't keep making shit!
3) Take a moment to analyze the game: what is good about it? How'd they do it? What ideas can you steal to use yourself?
4) Also spend a moment to think good thoughts about whoever made it, and be glad that they made a cool thing to put in the world. You wouldn't think it, but this is amazing at dispelling the shitty feelings.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Uh. Try to actually be good at something useful too, though.
You don't need platitudes, you just need to get better.
The problem with cake is that people rarely eat a whole one...
Just kidding, screw that

Depends on the size of the cake.

Those usually come with parents, unless it's a rave. In that case, the cake might include some non-standard ingredients.
Counter-counterpoint: Marijuana and Munchies
