Woody's Demo Battlers

Hi guys,
I've been working on a battle test to see if I could successfully incorporate animated battlers and to find out what the best layout/format would be.
There was a lot of trial and error, but I'm satisfied that it's possible now and I'll definitely be creating such a battle asset pack.
After a lot of testing, I settled on using Yanfly's Ace Battle Engine with Galv's Battlers, and creating battler sheets similar to Holders'.
Why specifically Galv's Battlers?
There are 5 good reasons :
# 1 :
It plays nicely with Yanfly's Ace Battle System – which really helps you to organize and clean up the main battle system's layout, without changing it too radically. The general compatibility of Galv's battlers, is extremely useful.
# 2 :
It uses Holder-style battle spritesheets but allows you to specify the number of frames and rows ( like Victors' Animated Battle ).
# 3 :
It allows you to rearrange the actor battle positions with a script call. This can easily be linked to game variables and then used to change formation depending on the number of actors in your party.
This also allowed me to link a battle cursor to my actor selection.
#4
Although it's not a very in-depth script, it also seems to be extremely stable and light. It's hard to go wrong with it and the setup takes very little time.
#5
It allows for swapping out spritesheets with a scriptcall – which means you can update an actor as the game progresses.

Hi Liberty,
Thanks - I didn't know you could do that. I'll definitely make use of it in future.
My post seems to display and link correctly for me - are the images not showing up? If so, I'll repost using files from my locker.

Woody's Original Character Sprites [RMVX ACE]
Hey guys,
I remember playing around with an older RPG Maker in high school. I never really moved past asset creation back then.
I picked up RPG Maker VX Ace recently, and found that nothing has changed. So I'm working on some sprites and busts for VX Ace at the moment.
( The images posted here are scaled up 2x here, but the sprites are the same size as the $BigMonster2 characters in the RTP )

If you'd like to try them, you can download demo sprite-sheets from my site - Demo Assets section. I will be updating this section as I go along.
Recommended Scripts :
Victor Engine - Multi Frames ; Victor Engine - Diagonal Movement ; Victor Engine - Character Control ; Chrome - Update Animation Count
Terms of use :
Feel free to repost or use any of my demo assets for non-commercial use. Please credit me - Woody.
