Question about RMXP tilesets

I have only just started using xp. And was wondering if XP had tileset limitations the way 2003 had. The problem I am having is that the Evil Castle tileset is very restrictive, so I was wondering If I could copy paste another tileset below it to create a bigger tileset or if its a limited size.

Yes I am using the RTP for now.

Walkable events in RMXP

How do you make events so you can walk on top of them when they are triggered?

In 2k3 you just set them as below hero, I have tried the through command but that doesn't work.

This is for a bridge when you find a bridge peice.

RPGMaker XP balancing

Hello I'm not very good at rpgmakerXP. And want to Know what an easy system to balance is. The problem I got is enemies either do too much damage or very little.

Should player Def be low than enemy Def. And monster ATK lower than Player atk.

I have managed to balance the classes just find enemies do either to much or to little.


How much should a boss be able to take down a players health with a big attack?

Anyone got any easy systems?

Suikoden 1 war system

Does anyone know how I could make a battle event simular to suikoden 1?

Im thinking variables with the enemy commands but I don't know how I could show the men each side has.

Editing chipsets problem

I have a problem When i rename a chipset it automatically changes the bit depth to 32 bit. I'v tried paint.nets method but it doesnt give me the option to save as 8 bit.

2k3s Horrible EXP

Has anyone figured out a good system for exp.
Im looking for a system where characters get EXP based off of there level compared to the level of the monster.

Im also thinking about maybe playing around with encounter rates based on level.

So my question is simply are there any tutorials on sorting out the mess that is 2k3s exp chart.

Houses with not much in vs locked houses.

What does RMN think of a town with locked houses.

On the other hand what does it think of a town with houses that are there you can go in but don't have anything in them really and end up being boring.

I myself have been doing the houses but im wondering if I should just make em locked so I can make the houses that I do detailed.

A good intro

In your opinions what is the best intro for a game also how important is the introduction to the game. Like Suikoden 2 had an intro while FF7 didn't really.

A: Straight into the action: Game is then a series of flashbacks
B: Hero wakes up in a village and does numurous chores.
C: Game begins in the first dungeon.
D: Blackscreen explaining the gameworld

any ideas where i can find some sprite sheets for these three characters from ff8.

Hello I need to get a sprite for koudelka http://latestscreens.com/wallpaper/Koudelka/koudelka

She has redy brown hair and will use a katana and maybe a pistol in game.
She wears a low cut top that is black and a mini skirt she also wears black leather boots.

I want big sprites if posible (Like the RTP)
