I was wondering how do you make it so you have to do somthing before they can do somthing elce?

Exapmple:
You Must Talk To the One Guy Before You Can Leave The Place

On RPG Maker Xp how do you make it so they have to do somthing before they can do somthing elce?

(must defeat like a boss before going through a door)
