Updated Fechnia Valley with another 35x35 Map. When this map is done it will be 12 maps each at 35x35 (total being 140x140. Don't let the large map size overwhelm you because it will be used for more than just the main story line (alot of side quests will be held in here too)

Updated and fixed a couple things on these maps :
1) Added grass/dirt under the water.
2) Fixed some elevation issues on some hills.
3) Fixed some map flow issues.

There's some places where it does give the sloping hill effect - in others, it's kinda weird to see. In that particular place, the effect is kept up until right near the merge between the two maps. It's more evident on the lower of the two as opposed to the top (where you wouldn't notice it in play due to the edge of the map). The addition of the second height increase there means that, were it not sloping, the cliff edge should be four tiles - you've used two, I believe (again, hard to tell for sure just for an estimating look). Unless there was a sudden increase in elevation (which would require more than the slope you'd been using), it should probably still be a three tile cliff there. That's what immediately drew my eye to the area - even accounting for the slope (which I wasn't sure if you were going for, but I was considering might have been the intention), there was a bit of a discrepancy there.
Yep, after taking a closer look I see exactly where you are speaking of, I tested it in the game and unless you are paying close attention to that it not too evident that there is a discrepancy, I'll see what I can do to fix it.

There's a slight height discrepancy in the two images that are second from the right - right where they meet, that set of cliffs there, the height varies in many places - when you go up the stairs, that looks like three tiles, but further up it looks like two tiles. And then you use a further height increase, so it looks like you should be four tiles up (according to my count), but you only use two tiles height from the ground level.
There's also other places on the map with three tile/two tile height discrepancy. It gives the effect that some places suddenly change in height or look like they're floating/hanging over the lower landscape.
Yes, I see what you are saying there, but as these are parallax maps its hard if not impossible to change/fix the problem without redoing the entire map and that is NOT an option lol. Thank you for pointing this out to me as I will be taking it into account with future maps.
The look I was going for there was a sloping hill.

These are parallax pics out of photoshop, any features / events for this map will be seen in game only (not posting in game screen shots yet). This map's size is mostly going to help me include my Quest system for this chapter of the game, not only will there be the main story that takes place here but there will be many side quests, mini-bosses and other challenges to do here. Trying to make a MMORGP, without the MMO, if you get what I mean.
