Looking to pay pixel animator, script writer
Hello, I am representing a small independent music label/video production company looking to branch out into game projects, and RPG maker seemed like a great resource for both its interface and scripting capabilities. That being said, we are interested in drafting a demo for a RPG we personally wrote, and see if over time we can continue to update it and expand from relying on stock rpg maker placeholders (like monsters, other details that have yet to be explicitly flushed out in the first written draft) into resembling a unique full-length horror-style RPG with a nice visual aesthetic and of course, a crazy soundtrack. I am working with RPG Maker XP, and I am in need of a pixel artist to design 1 character sprite (complete with all necessary animations) and create a custom weapon to be imported into the game. The weapon is a yo-yo used by the character sprite I need imported into RPG maker; the main protagonist.
As for scripting, Side View battle system is of the utmost importance. Furthermore, I would like to have an opening production credit slide (simple white text over black background) that leads into the title menu. I can easily put together the production credit in FinalCut, and I am in the process of designing a loop video (or gif) that would repeat behind the start menu. In addition, I would like custom menu scripts for pause menus which would feature character portraits next to their stats. I am personally working on designing the portraits. Lastly, I would also like to add looped background video/gifs for certain monster or boss battles. I am currently unsure if I should make these videos as .mov's in FinalCut for example, or just .gifs in photoshop.
About the game, "Fangram": A seemingly helpless child, RENZO, & his mysterious guardian summon, FANGRAM, have found themselves in the epicenter of the race to locate a mythical sentient weapon. In discovering his own identity, and those of the ones closest to him, RENZO's seemingly perpetual childhood offers only a dehumanizing view into the fatalistic nature of power obsessed nations & a technologically driven civilization. Definitely inspired by games such as Earthbound & FFVI with a manic horror element of Killer7. The demo (so far as I have imagined it) only covers the first 1/3 of the plot, but as I don't know about the size restriction of these RPG maker games, the plot could very well spill over into multiple sequels.

(Feel free to contact if in need of a producer/sound designer for your game!)
If any of this sounds interesting to you, and you are either an experienced scripter or pixel artist (or both!) please get in contact with me with a quote for additional details. We are a small business so we do not have a lot of money, but we understand that there can still be a great aesthetic result from such limitations. Some of my favorite games look both broke and crazy as hell! There is no real time restriction on this project work, as I am holding off on map design until I have these bare elements described above to give people a preview. In the near future I could see myself diving into the Summons system or scripts with some assistance as well (as I currently know nothing about how they work, but would be a rather big part of at least this opening part of the game's story). Over time, I will be gaining additional funds for the RPG and previous collaborators could potentially make more off of lending their abilities and time to this project.
Thank you for your time,
BSW Industries
