rpg maker 2003 side scroller
author=Link_2112
IT'S TOO HARD!!!!! but not impossible. You need to be a little more specific of what kind of game you are talking about.
Like a space shooter? There's a few by Kazesui that really are too hard for the average person. It uses pictures and trigonometry.
A beat em up? Which is basically an ABS system with flat, wide maps.
Do you want event based action or picture based? Events are easy, pictures not so much.
There's a game like this http://rpgmaker.net/games/272/
well like super Mario bros
and i know that there's smbx
but it kind of frustrating with the Mario sound effects
for making an original game.

rpg maker font

If you just want to fix and use the default font, that's a common issue. Usually if you install those font files on your PC the problem goes away. RM2000.fon I think it's called. There's 2 of them.
If you are trying to add new fonts into your project, I'll post what I know.
Use Hyper Patcher 2 to apply a new font. Unfortunately it has a character limit of like 15, so if the font name is longer than 15 I don't think it works. I just draw my own fonts with the program Fony and save it with a small name. I think there's another way to add fonts with hex editors, but I've never been able to get that to work. It's kind of complicated if you don't know hex.
Only certain downloaded fonts will work. Pretty much none of the new true type fonts, ttf. Usually it's the .fon ones that work. It prefers monospaced.
The size of the font has to be something like 7 pixels high and 5(or 6) wide.
If any of these limits are broken, the new font will look distorted. If that happens try another font. Only about 15% of the fonts I've ever tried worked. That's why I found it less of a headache to draw each letter the way I want it. Of course there's a list somewhere of acceptable fonts that work in 2k3.
thank you for the response but where can i find Hyper Patcher 2 for the text
