@Liberty Well, as for myself, I'm from the UK originally and now living and working in Tokyo. I have been messing around with RPG Maker on and off for a couple of years, but never really made anything much. I recently made a short escape game for my girlfriend, because she likes puzzles and exploring but nothing too complicated, she's not really a "gamer". I decided to put it up here as I figured it might be fun for actual gamers to mess around with, as a short and pretty simple distraction. I guess I need some kind of approval from the site before I can have a download for the game though, so I'm waiting for that...

Hello! Welcome to the insanity! You may not suffer any physical harm...but what's more boring than sanity, anyway?
Anyhoo, as far as I know, there's nothing to wait for except approval of your game page. At the top of the screen, you'll see Submissions. That gives you a drop down menu. Click create a game page, upload 3 unique screenshots from your game, title screen doesn't count, write a description (I think it's 500 character minimum now) describing your game, and that's it. Once your game page is approved you can download any time. No approval needed for download.
