HEYYOU'S PROFILE

Hi everyone. I'm new to this website. I'm an animation major student, I do some graphic art, I love RPGs, and I've played around with RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 in the past.

I'm very interested in trying to make my own RPG,and I would love to make an RPG with a unique side-view card-based battle system, and my own designed menus. But I have no knowledge or experience in programming languages or scripting.

Can anybody please give me a brief description of what I should know and learn and how to get started? Which RPG Maker should I use, what programming language does it use, and I should I start learning? Should I take a class? Are there instructions on the internet?

Sorry if I'm sounding pretty ignorant.
