Broken Reality - Version 14

Excited for the new update!

One thing I forgot to mention before: some of the items that provide permanent skill boosts (I forget the names) can be purchased without limit from some stores...seems like that could be a balance issue, potentially?

Broken Reality - Version 14

1) The stack text isn't really a problem anyway and a simple save, close and reopen solves it. Hardly game-breaking.
2) I only downloaded the latest version, so didn't transfer an old savefile as far as I know...
3) Could easily be my own computer, using an old, slow laptop atm.

Have remembered another bug I encountered. Technically breaks the game but self-fixable. When I tried to control the beserker zombie on the beach level (I think floor 9? maybe 10), using the voodoo mask, the game crashed due to an image file being missing. I crudely fixed it by copying, pasting and renaming another image file. Unfortunately, I could not tell you which file is missing beyond the fact I think it's in the characters folder, since that's the only one I've modified.

With regard to invisible encounters, I actually noticed it pretty heavily on the first level, in the dungeon where you encounter the first boss. Could barely go a few steps without an encounter. And on this floor, the distinction between visible and invisible was almost meaningless, since I had something like a 10% escape rate (maybe class-dependent; I was a mage so perhaps low agility). Most of the other floors were significantly better (except 6, as you mentioned), though I would still have liked some putchasable item that lowers the invisible encounter number, even at the cost of other stats, since I'd have wanted to do some more exploring without overleveling/constant encounters.

Also, minor point, but the text for the assassin girl on the first floor if you have the wrong class seems to suggest that it's possible to free her in a different way. Kept revisiting it with different characters/items until I read here that it's not possible. Maybe it could be a bit more explicit?

Yes, can't figure out how to attach files, so here are the Dropbox links.

Save 1 is the problem mentioned. Save 4 is after I tried to solve it by button mashing and somehow ended up able to move again but now unable to use the gun at all.

Broken Reality - Version 14

Loved the game so far. Had a few bugs and a few comments though.

Some bugs were mentioned before, so won't mention again. However: sometimes when using a teleport thing or using a recipe, the text description remains onscreen permanently after use until I completely shut down and restart the game. Also, I can buy the recipe for advanced potions fine, but if I use it and open the crafting menu, the game crashes immediately. Also, not sure if this is my computer or a bug, but if the game runs for a while, it slows down tremendously, which is immediately fixed by saving, closing and re-opening it again. Maybe it eats up memory whilst open? Probably no quick fix to that though.

With regard to the comments: there's a balance issue with money, at least from the second floor onwards. You can buy unlimited ingredients, which means infinite money very quickly by simply being a potion factory and churning out then selling 33 strong potions at a time. Maybe you could prevent this by having a fixed number of ingredients available to sell (but still letting people buy as many of the pre-synthesised potions as they want). After al, those guys outside the city at the very start talk about smuggling in ingredients/only being able to bring a limited quantity.

With regard to encounters, I like the visible encounters and think they're pretty atmospheric, especially in the misty forest level/dragon's tomb dungeon, but the rate for invisible encounters is often ridiculously high, to the point that I've sometimes had them every three steps. It sort of renders the mix of visible and invisible encounters pointless, since you lose the whole stealth aspect of visible encounters. Going around an encounter will get you several more encounters. And the distinction between the two types is often quite pointless too, because the escape rate is quite low, especially in the first level. Also means you quickly over-level, making the bosses pretty easy. I think it would be nice if the encounter rate for invisible encounters could be severely toned down, or at least if there were a consumable or piece of equipment that could massively reduce the rate.

Enjoying the game so far, however I encountered a game breaking bug on...I think arc 5? In Boreal, with Barone and Laurel in the party, where you have to go around shooting the barrels of dynamite to stop the ember mages. There were some minor bugs in the first field: after pressing z, only one of the aim bars moved and it crashed once due to a script failing. But the one that blocks progress from then on is that since succeeding in the first field and moving onto the second, any time I click z to go into aim mode, it switches back to the avalanche animation and then freezes immediately after that. I can open the menu, but not move at all. Doesn't seem to be any way around it either. Did anyone else encounter/solve this issue?
