Currency isn't useless if you use it properly. A lot of games simply do not.
Exactly for example some of the final fantasy games did that properly like FFX others did not like FFXIII where as potions are to cheap and revival items are to expensive.

Cool idea not using currency, but...
Shouldn't there be at least points or something?
What about points you spend for developing your character gets you items aswell and points that let you use specials or something (instead of mp) could buy other stuff like weapons?
Or a trade system instead of completely searching for stuff?
