Who's YOUR favorite japanese composer? What's your favorite japanese soundtrack??
So now; who's your favorite japanese composer, OR if you don't know japanese names, what's your favorite japanese soundtrack and why?
I'll start off with the easy choice, Final Fantasy. Specifically Final Fantasy 6 all the way through until 9 (Erave would probably want 5 in there I think too). I thought that Nobuo Uematsu and Shiro Hamaguchi really kicked it into action around that time. Still havn't got a listen to Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey, though, so definitely looking forward to that.
And probably my second choice would be Yuki Kajiura's soundtracks for Anime. More specifically soundtracks like Mai-Hime and Hacksign. If anyone hasn't seen Mai-Hime yet I suggest watching all 26 episodes in 2 days. The ending wasn't so great, but that dosn't excuse the music being top notch. Love the music that's so well placed it leads the visuals, rather than the visuals leading the music.

Help me with my RM2k3 Article!!
I'm creating an article for rpgmaker.net and the future gamingw.net 6. It's developing an average of just how long it takes to make a typical game with rm2k3.
What I need YOUR help with is this survey. All you have to do is fill out the 13-14 questions. ;p
Click here to start the Survey
Basically what I'm going to do when I get enough people to fill it out, is create an average amount of hours to complete a typical game, and how many hours you might spend a day on the process to complete such a game.
NOTE: Someone on GW asked about the last question having it say "15 minute cuscene". I don't mean just 1 cutscene, but just the typical amount of time it would take to create 15 minutes OF cutscenes.
Here are the stats of my "typical rpg game". Please correct what you see as too much for any typical rpg game or too little for any typical rpg game:
#) Resources to be used
- Notebook: for sketches, concept artwork
- RPG Maker 2003
- 10 Custom Chipsets
- 30 Compiled MIDIs
- 50 CharasEdit Generic NPCs
- 20 CharasEdit for Main Characters
- 50 Custom Monster Pictures
- 8 Custom Boss Pictures
- 30 Abilities/Magic for User Heros
- 100 Abilities/Magic for Generic Monsters
- 20 Abilities/Magic for Monsters
- 50 Items
- 10 Custom Battle Animation Pictures
A) Planning with Pencil, Paper, or Wordpad-like Program
1. Script and Character Design
- Create 20 Main Characters (with 10 Playable)
- Create 2 Nations: 2 capital cities and 8 towns for a total of 10 Towns
- Each City = 2 Outdoor Maps and 15 Indoor Maps; Each Town = 1 Outdoor Map and 8 Indoor Maps (Total of 106 Maps)
- Create a Sketch of the World Map
- Create a Sketch of the 2 Capitol Cities, Outdoor
- Create a Sketch of the 8 Towns, Indoor
2. Gathering Resources before starting Creation
- Gather together each resource from "Resources to be used" above
3. Create Maps
- Create the World Map
- Create 106 Maps
- Add Generic NPCs using the 50 Generic NPCs that you've created with CharasEdit
- Add Warp Triggers to Each map
- Go into Each Town and Create the NPCs Conversation
4. Turn Script into Events
- Create Story Triggers within the 106 Maps for a total of 2 hours of cutscenes
5. Manage Battle System
- Create/Manage Each of the 10 Playable Characters' Stats (HP, MP, etc...)
- Assign Weapons and Items to Specific Characters
- Assign Magic and Abilities to Specific Characters
6. Manage Shops (Inn, Weapon, Item, Magic, and Armor/Shield)
- Create Triggers and Dialogue for Shop Owners

E3?
Been watching a bit of E3 on G4TV every now and then....games seem to have pretty good graphics.
But what I want to know is where are all the RPGs? Even American RPGs would be nice. Otherwise, has Japan's version of E3 seperated from Americas?
