I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

No, it's annoying especially when I'm checking the Community portal for the latest posts, only to find nothing but posts on mafia.
Actually, I feel there shouldn't be any latest posts for posts in the Welp, Welp forum.

Real talk, though: While I honestly don't care one way or another (I just brought up the quote for giggles), sometimes I wonder if it would be worthwhile to have the Latest Posts page actually work more like the way topics are listed when viewing the forums - so, listing stuff (game pages, images, forum topics, etc) in order of mostly recently commented on.

Comments in game pages and on images fall under Latest Posts, so yeah.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something.
EDIT: Or I guess Turkey meant that the Latest Topics list gets updated whenever there's a new post in a topic, so the topic with the newest post is at the top of the list.
But if that's the case, it's really no different from Latest Posts, isn't it?
This discussion comes up every time a Mafia game is started on RMN. And every time it results in the conclusion that the time and energy that go into this discussion, and would need to go into implementing a corresponding change to the site, are not worth the actual benefit of doing so.
Plus, some people actually like to keep track of what's happening when in those threads. Sure, it can become a bit ridiculous sometimes with all the posts, but ever since the Latest Posts section was expanded to show about 18 pages worth of posts, it's not more than a minor bother any more. This is a site about games, so people are going to want to play games. Let's just accept that fact.

Uh, changing the Latest Topics to reflect that would be stupid. It's so the newest topics can be easily seen, else they wouldn't even be noticed. Seriously.
... No, don't change the latest topics. Turkey suggested changing the latest posts list and Elipsis just started making it confusing.
If you changed the latest posts list so that it only showed the topics that have been posted in, it wouldn't need to have multiple entries on the list for the same topic.

So you're saying as long as a topic has new posts, that topic itself will automatically move up to the top of the list instead of multiple entries of the same topic? Okay, gotcha.
In that case, yeah, that's a pretty good idea.

Seriously, though, I guess what tukeyDawg and others are suggesting (and I agree with) is for the ability to filter the latest post section by categories: Images/reviews/statuses, etc. Or even by forums: Design & Develpment/Creative corner/Welp... If you use the latest post section, you already do this "by eye". It's only that it becomes more difficult when pages upon pages are about the same topic. Not necessarily mafia, but yes, mafia... Being able to tick content on and off on the fly would be cool.
How difficult would it be to implement something like that, though, is another ballgame altogether. But not too difficult, hopefully...
