So, I finally have VX Ace, and I'm playing with it and I'm really not liking the RTP.

Yeah, the VX/A RTP is pretty shit tier. More to do with how the autotiles and stuff work though than the actual graphics.

Eh, I like the RTP but I understand why others don't. It is quite blocky and square and can look terrible when a lot of time isn't put into using it. Edits help a lot, I find, and being an RTP it's relatively easy to edit (unlike custom tiles).
That said, I have no issue with people not liking it due to the style, only those who hate it because it's RTP.

What I really don't like is the way the borders on ground tiles are done. The only way long grass really looks good is if you put it down in single clumps, even doubling it up looks terrible. Sidewalks have obvious, oversized borders, especially noticeable butting up against wall tiles.
