I find the lack of feedback at RMW extremely frustrating at times. I feel like an idiot at times posting in my game topics again and again and again... But maybe I'm just having a bad day. Had to get it off my chest.
I've pretty much given up everywhere else.
RMN is my home. I get steady downloads, I get feedback and a gamepage!
I haven't updated the other forums in years, I just have a link to my RMN gamepage!

^ Yeah, that. Gamepages are awesome, like your own mini-website. Oh, and RMN has makerscore. Can't forget MAK score.
Edit: Oh well, I got my 701st Like over at RMW. When I hit 1000, I will celebrate.

One of the most frustrating aspects I found about RMW is that they are by far the worst community to ask for resources. I posted a topic requesting a script that would detect when an event and another event are next to another. I got some really vague, back and forth responses with no actual solution. I posted that same topic here, and one of our scripters showed his awesomeness and did it immediately.
... Not sure if that was a good example or not, but I just don't get the same sense of community bonding at RMW the same way I do for any other traditional RM site. It's like commercialism has gotten in over their heads or something.

r-resourcesssssss @_@;;
I can't really speak for what rmw's like nowadays, since I'm the Evil Double Devil Supreme and they cast out my hot evil ass with a righteousness, but this place is definitely more effective for finding criticism than some! and with a million different people who only have eyes for their own projects, it would get tough to get any of them to look at yours.
so come aboard, sez I. they generally pull from the same group of people here, but there aren't as many solipsists gumming up the works.

Huh. I was vaguely considering making an account there, despite the lack of gamepages. Though, it is a pretty huge deterrent.
well, like, you don't stand to lose anything. it could be decent publicity too if you make your game eye-catching. it's just that you can sink way more time into rmw without getting anything done or thinking about anything interesting, from my experience.
If you need a script RMRK are also good for that. Myself, I've not really had an issue with that, Ratty, though yeah, they do like to recommend other scripts that are just shy of what you'd like or could work if you edited them (if only you knew how to edit them, anyway.)
RMN has been my home since I got here. It has all my favourite people here, I love the set-up of forums separate from game pages and just the general atmosphere. Ever since I found RMN I've found it so annoying to have to bother with game threads in forums. >.<
Don't get me wrong, I like the site. Since it's based around the forums they're a lot more active than RMN's (which is to be expected) and there's a lot of overlap with people, too, so that's not an issue. It has it's things to like (dat shoppage~)
@mawk: well, you were a bit of a pillock back then, you have to agree~ You've only gotten better with age, my friend. ^.^

pillock
I learned a new word!
That's what makes RMN simply the best, better than all the rest, better than anyone, anyone I've ever met.
I think my general dissatisfaction lies with getting feedback for the projects over there. I don't know how many times I've asked for feedback for Lady of the Lion ( from various members, not just one :\ Otherwise I feel like I'm having a comversation with that person ) so I won't bother to update my games over there anymore.
And Punch Bears only irks me even further... People obsessed with beating high scores, spending up to 11 bloody hours just trying to punch 10,000 bears... God. I'm shocked by how popular it is over there...

Punch Bears is popular on that site? It's too bad I couldn't get that high score-beating drive with Tina of the Stars. :(
