So i had an idea for a crafting engine for a game i'm making. The idea i had was this:
1. Gravity engine: Not that I want to actually mimic a physics engine but i want the system to be able to determine the weights of objects based on what they are made off.
2. Periodic table of elements. Each element having a weight.: The reasons for this are that I want the gravity engine to be able to recognize the weight of an object based on it's element.
3. A crafting system which allows the player to create Many different types of objects based.
A. Choose the look of the item
B: Choose the element it's made of
D; create the item and it can be place on the feild.
The Idea For the game is that the world Is basically like our own. the only difference is that there is one additional element In the world. I'll call is the magic element.
The magic element is a strange element that follows the laws of physics of the world in that it has a weight that Increases exponentially based on the weight of the element it is added to.
For example if Iron has a weight of 10 the weight of the magic element would me Magic to the tenth power.
Waht i'm thinkiing is that if i do this right i can create very strange effects based on the weight of an object crafted. I've pretty much got feild effects figured out. but i need a way to integrate them to frigger when a eight is placed on the feild.
Example i have one feild effect which creates fire in a 10x10 area. I want to to triger when Nitrogen is mixed added to magic is added to the feild.
