Necropolis

Entertaining fight system with few rules and a lot of possible combination. I like such a gameplay. Only the graphic prevents the full flow of fun. Your outlines are fine, the colour tone not - especially the eye smashing Green.
Have I to learn to fall in love with old NES look or is there a chance for a graphic change?

El Dorado

Feed the native with the poisoned flesh and you are very close to the gold.

El Dorado

Right. The mightiest fighter of the western world hasn't much text, so translating wouldn't be hard.

One minute later in the basement of my Alpen fortress ...

- Did you hear, cellar slave? Your master has work for you! Translate! Translate!
- Igor is happy, master. Igor forms new words for the master.
- Brave, ugly thing. But be quickly or I will open the box of drawing pins!
- Not the drawing pin, Master! Igor does not like the pain.
- Then quickly, Carpathian beast! The work must be done till next full moon. You know why.
- Oooooohhh.

El Dorado Review

@ calunio
Thanks for the illustratived review. The ultimate hardness of the game has a simple reason, it was developed for a contest with one big rule: Don't make it hard, make it harder. I think I match it. And it is as you say, people with low frustration barriers should avoid it. El Dorado's audiance are masochistics. Humorous masochistics. Humorous masochistics which even laughs when a cat scratchs over a blackboard.
One of my inspirations was an old adventure named Gobliiins. Many ways into death, comic graphic, one level one map ... sounds familiar.

@ Darken
Trial and error and cartoonic death gameplay, please. :)

El Dorado Review

Thanks for the review. Concept and result are two different things. Such texts help me a lot by examining the disparity. And in case there is almost no difference I learn nevertheless about game design - even mainly.

My results:
- Even death (many, many, many deaths) can be entertaining. Frustration lurks not in the matter, but in the manner of implementation.
- Every game needs a deadly jellyfish.
- The harder the shorter.
- Games does'nt need a story.
- Chuck Norris is the international code for pure hardness.
- Animations pimp the graphic far more than it costs to do them.

@ calunio
Yes, I made Captain America.
The time limit in El Dorado is the lovely bubble spring of panic. I like it to much as I could remove it.

Push!

Good idea, good realization, great fun. Thank you for this game.

Beware! They look nice and harmless but are full of perfidy.

El Dorado

There is a walkthrough movie. But you are allowed to peek only in matters of language. I will controll it. ;)
