It's the small touches like that which will make me laugh rather than a full on joke in games. Sound effects can be used to great effect!

Yea, for sure :) Video games are one of the mediums that can hit a lot of the senses at once, so it's good to take advantage of it! And nothing sets the tone and emotion of a scene like sound and music.
