Different Elemental Types (than Fire, Ice, etc)

Hmm, this is interesting. I'm gonna throw some ideas out there based on that image.
Since you have the psychic thing going on along with emotions, you can have the elements be dynamic. There could be a neutral element and using different psychic abilities will take a toll on their psychological state changing their element from Sorrow, Rage, Terror, etc. Someone with more Rage will be more of a threat to someone in Terror. You can also do typing advantage via weapons like Fire Emblem.

Sorry for the rambling. This piqued my interest haha

And btw don't get too overwhelmed about the player getting confused. As long as you pace everything nicely and are clear about the mechanics, they will eventually catch on. Good luck!

Fiddler on the Airship: The Best Traditions in RPGs

Collecting! Pokemon was probably what started all of this for me. I also enjoy collecting loot and materials for crafting. The synthesis systems in KH and FF IX were pretty cool. I remember pouring hours into KH trying to make Ultima Weapon.

Although it didn't have any real use, the Collectapedia in Xenoblade was really neat. The item descriptions revealed interesting stuff about the world and whatnot.

Still need get around to playing the Atelier series, which I hear has an insane crafting system.

I like taking ideas from current rpgs and then adding regressive elements. Welcome to rmn!

Haha a 16-bit Xenoblade with turn-based battles would be pretty cool tho

Thanks for the warm welcome, all!

What's up? I started dabbling with RPG Maker back in high school (I'm 22 now) using RM2K3. I made a few projects but nothing showcase worthy. Since then, I've shifted my focus to pixel art, music and story writing. Now that I have some awareness, I guess I'm ready to dive back into the "game" lol

I'm majorly influenced by the SNES, GBC and GBA eras. My aim is to capture the essence of those eras but add fresh & progressive elements as well. Anyway, I'm planning a new project, hopefully I'll have something cool to show soon!
