They are on the slightly "spectacularly awesome" side, but I still think the games they are based on are better.

I imagine UPRC will be happy to hear that, but since you are one of the testers I'm sure you can mention it directly.

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy was definitely a nice pleasant surprise for me back when I first played and beaten it earlier this year, as I thoroughly enjoyed playing the first game and I felt that it best emulated the older FF games to almost a tee. I haven’t tried out the second game as of yet, as I’m sort of waiting for UPRC to completely finish it first before I decide to jump into it, so I’m trying to be as patient as possible. I still follow everything that’s going on with the developmental phase, of course.

I don’t know if you could call either game in the series the best of the best around here, as I’m pretty sure there are some other worthy candidates that I and most people around here can think of. Still, it is a damn good game, I tell you what, and UPRC should feel extremely proud of himself for what he’s done thus far.

I would probably go on the record and say that it’s the best fangame of something that I have ever played on here as of yet. And whenever I think of good fangames on here – this is usually the first one that comes to mind. :)
