@Darken: Featuring one-on-one fights doesn't make a game a Fighting game. That was a bad example.

Video game genres are categorized based on their gameplay interaction. Looking at the controls is usually enough to categorize a game:
In battles, a Fighting game assigns to the controls different attacks of varying strength and other actions (movement, etc.) while an RPG assigns choice selection and Confirm/Cancel commands.

I agree that genres aren't set in stone, but if I follow your line of thought categorizing a game's genre would become too subjective. Zelda: A Link to the Past for instance would be labeled as an Action-Adventure-Fighting-RPG-Puzzle-Shooter-Strategy-Simulation game.

So then by your logic, it still counts. Because inputting combinations with the attacks will be present.

What's wrong with that? The offical games are super crap. And that's not just with Dragonball.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Lol, I'll come up with something else for those.

And no. What do you mean 'cry yourself to sleep'?

It's supposed to be a fighting/rpg game. Probably isn't much, tell me what you guys think.

Dragon Ball: Goku's Origins

An RM2k3 game I'm working on. Why RM2k3? because this is something I'm doing in my spare time. RM2k3 comes at that lesiure and the default battle system can be used to my adventage(if it's done properly, which it will).

The game itself will span from World Tournament 23 to at the end of the Saiyan Saga. As I said, this is a project that I want to focus little time on yet be fun. And it will. So far, I've begun on the preliminary rounds, seems to be going rather well. I have stumbled across an abundance of resources, so all should be well.

Here's 2 screens. Tell me what you think(I know it's bleak, but I don't care about anything fancy) Also, please don't point out the obvious, with there no KI bar showing for Tien. I know that :)
