STATUS
any argument where I have to tell people not to literally use an ongoing genocide to distract people has officially jumped the shark

... In addition, you shouldn't be the guy who brings up forum drama over status posts. It's antagonizing and flat out lame. :/
eat my entire ass if, given that entire trainwreck of a thread, the moral imperative that burns a hole in your pocket is to tell me that I'm being mean.

It's not about being mean, it's about being considerate enough to know that nobody else cares about the ridiculous problems you or anyone else stirred up in that thread. Not to mention all you are getting out of posting "revenge statuses" is further tension between you and other members, so why not just drop it?
thank you Moral Centre of the Forums and Noted Undramatic Man Ratty524 for reminding me that statuses are only ever used for important things

here's the mail it never fails
it makes me wanna wag my tail
when it comes I wanna wail
maaaaaaail
I have no idea what this is referring to at all, but I do know that mawk has a bit of a habit of subtly insulting the intelligence of those he's arguing with. try not to take it to heart.
Jumping the shark in circles is the fate of any good internet argument!
Unwarranted genocide comparisons? That's like when you go to the gangsta party and people get shot -- that's just how you know the party's poppin, brah!
...
I think reading too many internet arguments has destroyed my soul...
ps: I haven't read what went down in that thread yet, and now I don't think I want to...

Nothing bad happened, just the usual "anything I didn't mention is off-topic". You can argue along that line easily and stand firm on your ground, sure. But being proud of it?
..Oh well, have your fun. I'll have mine.

'subtly', kentona? do you think I'm exaggerating at all? because no, somebody literally did that. I can show you the post, if you like.
they actually spent several posts, talking about how disagreeing with them about the jontron thing was just like approving of the genocide in Gaza because (shaky and misplaced terror about 'political correctness' goes here). I didn't think this place could somehow have gotten worse while I was gone, but there you go.
and Kylaila, bringing up a literal ongoing genocide to use as an excuse to distract people from a totally unrelated discussion is actually disgusting on basically every level and the reason I hate it is not because it's 'off-topic'
you're trying to talk down to me for not being willing to humour someone as they break Godwin's Law (to put it in terms you wannabe debators understand), and more importantly do it in the most solipsistic and horrifically disrespectful way possible by choosing something that's happening right now. you nerds might not care about co-opting the wrongful deaths of innocent people as a moral dodge for petty arguments, but you have to at least admit that it's terribly gauche to bring it up.
or are you all just caught up trying so hard to act like you don't care to admit that that sort of thing is just maybe a bit uncalled for?

'instulting the intelligence of those I'm arguing with'
to be frank, here, that's just a matter of reading what they say back to them.

the amazing part is that nerds who only care about Gaza as a means of distracting people from criticizing them are really common lately, for some reason
'be nice to me, I'm not as bad as genocide and people can only care about one thing at a time, right'

Argument null.

oh no, I'm bigoted against nerds! I'm bigoted against a group of people characterized by their immense social influence and the way they mistreat people from less advantaged groups! won't somebody think of the well-to-do majority!?
How do you make such logic leaps? Who was arguing for/against bigotry?
this is something I've observed with nerds -- they'll do their damndest to set up certain arbitrary lines that, to them, automatically disqualify you. it's one of the most desperate bad-faith argument tactics, and I wish there was less of it here.

Mawk wveryone knows that there can only be one Most Important Issue and that all other issues no matter how pressing must be shelved until this one Most Important Issue is satisfactorily resolved. Furthermore it is always self-evident which issue is most important and all agree on a unified direction to the issue's resolution.
Duh.

I am a machine. until I upgrade my motherboard with more Care RAM, I can only choose to care about slurs OR genocide. they're onto me!
I'm curious as to why you care so much about this site and it's moral attitude?
Most people who feel connected to this site are those who make and play RM games. You don't seem to do either. I do see some positive feedback comments, which is great, but it's mostly arguments about non-videogame related topics. You don't seem to have any friends here(surprise).
What is keeping you here? Things are usually pretty friendly around here until you start those debates.
