the way you contort everyone's post in such a way so that you must be correct is wonky, yah
In what way do I contort everyone's posts to fit my narrative, good sir? I literally reply whatever was said, including you.

careful guys, we're dealing with a real capital-g Gamer™ here
realtalk:
I am not well versed in this situation or in the general LGBT+ community or even 4chan or whatever, but even my old eyes can tell that the language you use and the way you use them, like "normal" and "opinions", is couched in some really wonky assumptions and worldviews.
Having a thick skin and ignoring mean things being said on the internet is a "wonky" worldview?
I didn't know I must act like a raging 15 year old in order to be in the "in" crowd, especially when no one is allowed to voice different opinions.

If your dating a racist and your cool with them being a racist then your basically giving an A-OK their racist behaviour. Likewise for transphobic behaviour, homophobic behaviour or anything else.
Im not interested in cancel culture and shit like that but if you dont want to support that sort of behaviour or belief (just like you might not want to support a business that uses palm oil or slave labor) then having the knowledge out in the open so potential customers can make an informed decision, yeah I think thats a good thing.
Translation: I do not like that person's opinions. Therefore, they should break up with that person or else they agree with them. I also conflate being mean on the internet to actual harm like slavery and eco destruction because I am disingenuous and want to be morally superior to everyone else.
And you wonder why normal people don't take you seriously.
You can say you're "not a part of cancel culture" but your arguments really say otherwise. You don't care about actual people suffering and you are willing to conflate opinions to actual harm to feel morally justified by destroying someone, especially when you brigade a lesbian couple over opinions you don't agree with.
Somehow, these "racists" and "transphobes" seem to be less of a vile bully than you.

There's a difference between mean words and propagating hate. Regardless if the company is big or small, it's up to the developer to maintain professionalism at all times.
And thus it's up to the consumer if they want to vote with their wallet or not.
Is she calling upon her legions of gamers to "rise up" and kill trannies? Or is she just expressing her own opinion, on a place that is private?
You have every right to not buy a game since it's your prerogative, but brigading someone because you simply don't like what they have to say is more hateful than anything.
There's a difference between on job "professionalism" and people just stating opinions that are on a discord. This is especially true if her girlfriend was making the opinion and not the developer herself.

The developer is female and no one is campaigning about anything lol
So, the massive brigading on twitter and REEEEEsetera is just a figment of my imagination?
And that is even worse, lol. I thought you guys are not misogynist and treat women with respect?

lol @ "actual gamers"
Because actual gamers and normal people get bent out of shape over mean words on the internet, amrite?

Choosing not to support a developer is denying them a living? Lol.
People don’t want to buy games from people support viewpoints that treat them badly.
It’s not that complicated. That’s all I really have to say to you. I suggest you take Darken’s advice.
There is choosing not to support the developer, and there is brigading the developer to deny any business prospect so they won't ever get a living wage.
You're doing the latter and I say you're more of a bully than every other "online meanie" ever could be. People could buy whatever they want and often separate the creator from the creation. Why? No one cares about mean words. And no one cares about your crocodile tears.
The developer is not a criminal. He just says mean words. You should probably grow a thicker skin. It's that simple.
If you have a problem with mean things said on the internet, log off.

author=DarkenYou don't think that crying about a girlfriend's opinions and trying to threaten a developer's livelihood will not get actual gamers annoyed and will buy the game out of spite? The dehumanization of trans people is not "just an opinion." No one here is advocating for someone's livelihood to be threatened (except maybe the transphobes). This controversy isn't going to affect the sales by any sizeable amount so it's a moot point.
And don't you think trying to threaten a developer's livelihood over a girlfriend's opinion is also a bad take?
Since this is your first time posting here you're welcome to introduce yourself to the community over in the introductions forums instead of being brainwashed by 4chan. In any case I truly hope you find something better to orbit your life around.
Mean words on the internet is not "dehumanization" and it is more disgusting for you to conflate people saying words and expressing opinions on the internet to people actively trying to affect their financial and business prospects because you didn't like what they have to say. You're actually not doing minorities ANY favors by trying to bully people out of a career because you're sad over opinions.
And I think this "controversy" did affect people because I would have NEVER heard of this game, if not for you complaining about the developer in the first place. Thanks to you, more people will buy and play it.
Don't think I am just going to censor myself to save you any sort of "dehumanization", especially if you are supporting a doctrine which stops people from making a living. It is honestly disgusting.

Yeah, this is going to get out of hand quickly.
@veggiebad, you should probably look into the situation more, as the first time this all came up back in April it was because of things the lead dev said on discord. It wouldn’t be the first time this same issue came involving this game.
Has the developer robbed a bank? Or is it just naughty opinions?
If all this drama is about a person saying mean things online, then a lot of people are more inclined to play the game since normal people don't see that as an issue.
You're getting all bent over backwards over opinions and what people say, so your solution is to "cancel" them. I say that is the worst take any gamer or game developer could do.

To the folks of Twitter and ResetERA.... THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME PAY ATTENTION TO THIS GAME!
This game looks fantastic and I shall buy it!
Who knew "cancel culture" could be THIS effective?
You don't think that crying about a girlfriend's opinions and trying to threaten a developer's livelihood will not get actual gamers annoyed and will buy the game out of spite?
And don't you think trying to threaten a developer's livelihood over a girlfriend's opinion is also a bad take?
