Help with Items and Common Events

Yeah I'm trying to do a thing on RPG Maker VX Ace where the player finds an item, they can view it by going into the menu and going to key items. After of 30 minutes on trying to do that, I can't seem to get rid of the picture and I did put in if pressed A, erase the picture, but it's not working. I try to look this up but I can't find any answers. I would really love it if someone can explain it to me on how to fix this. Also if possible send me a link to a video or screenshot on how to do it. If not explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old because the whole Common Events confuses me.
