I instantly knew which was harmonic's entry when I heard it. I was wondering why the melody instrument was on the bottom, though.

NewBlack's entry was much better than I expected! :D

Anyway, I guess I should've went with the percussion for this theme, to get closer to the lava vibe. It was a tough choice to switch my percussion track to something else.

Anyway, congrats to the winner! Well deserved. Now I'm really looking forward to entries of the next round.
The results for the first phase were rather nice.

Congrats to anybody who actually GOT a vote!

Yeah, there were a lot of entries. I'm happy I got a mention in many of the replies. :)

Only because it didn't fit the theme. It was an excellent piece otherwise.
from reading the critique i'd suggest people came in with a lot of preconceptions. kids today, no imagination
Interpretations of the theme varied quite a bit among both composers and voters. That makes the top-ranked entries all the more impressive, but as it was said before, there's a lot of great stuff here.

The next theme will probably be open to even more interpretation, so there's no telling how it will turn out.
I realize my vote is too late to matter, but 16 was amazing. I would use that in any game any day. Lots of other good ones too, but man, 16 was awesome.

Thanks Happy. :)

The bass instrument was a pizzicato bass with tons of reverb soaked into it.

And yes it did seem like auxiliary percussion was the key to this phase.

Yeah, I'm just saying it sounded like the flute was too quiet, at least for my liking! Though it sounded nice regardless!
grats to everyone, especially harmonic!! ^^
