edit: I'll clarify my statement. Brickroad is the one who wrote this article. Hence I think Max is entirely justified in disliking Brickroad.
Hell I'd say recommending his fucking game at all was pretty damn big of me at this point, all things considered. I have the rare ability to recognize and even acknowledge quality work even if it's done by someone I really don't like as a person. Such as...yeah. Nevermind. I hope you enjoyed your spate of tattling, though.

Yes, it is. Name a person that uses RPG Maker that hasn't 'ripped off' some commercial game or book. You cannot. "Nothing is new under the sun." Every game on this site has something that was taken from another game, book, show, mythos, scientific theory or mathematical equation. Every damn one.
Hence why SOPA would shut this place down.

Second the recommendation for Dhux's Scar. Unconventional, tough as nails and generally really polished and fun. The rest of the game's pretty great too!
I remember Last Scenario being pretty hardcore at times too, but probably not to such an extent. Some of those boss battles were terrifying. Haven't played much of Yeaster's games but since he's such a big fan of Shin Megami Tensei I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't pretty difficult. I remember the early stages of the first Onyx being a little cheap, though. Onyx 2 might be a stronger game in that regard.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Someone already recommended my game , so I'mma pay it forward and recommend any/all of Craze's games. The ones I played (Visions&Voices, Diablocide) were quite difficult in a really good and enjoyable way, and I understand most of his other games are made with a similar mindset.

I'm quite aware; Scibbe.com is on my bookmarks bar. Still, no reason to be "so big" as to share KC(A) and still call the creator an asshole. I don't go "that messiah complex Max made a timed game called Iron Gaia: Virus," or "if you like large-party games, you might try To Arms! by Max McGee, who says shit about people and then criticizes their friends for informing them."
...I guess IG:V fits "difficult" though I've never gotten more then a battle or two into it without dying and ragequitting. Thus, I'm not sure if it stays difficult! (I am so big to recommend this game after Max has insulted his community and one of my good friends.)

The Reconstruction has some pacing issues, but is a generally interesting, difficult and worthwhile game. It's very different from your traditional turn-based RPG, so be warned: it's, uh, very different. Also, Deltree is a nice guy who doesn't make or deserve personal attacks! I recommend it.

I'm glad (horrified) that people enjoy V&V still, but I personally wouldn't recommend it. Diablocide is silly and incomplete but I still play through it myself occasionally, so play that instead.
If people really did post things like "that fucking toolwad Max made an awesome game called Iron Gaia: Virus you might like, may he burn in the fires of Texas" I would probably have no complaints. : )

I'm not sure what counts as difficult...
Maybe Wraith? The few battles in it can really mess you up.

I never had too much trouble with Chrono Trigger. Lavos WAS crazy hard, but after Kefka in FF3, I sometimes feel that I could beat any rpg boss.

Sorry about that, man. I did not click the link, for I've been having trouble seeing these past few days. I didn't even notice it was blue. My thoughts on the original seem irrelevant now.
