PLEASE TELL ME RMN LIKES HEAVY METAL!
Posts
I used to like heavy metal. Then I turned 12.
OH SO SHOULD I PUT AN "IRONIC" TAG IN MY POST SO THAT EVERYBODY UNDERSTAND THAT MY POST WAS MEANT TO BE IRONIC???
Great music to drive too (until you get off the interstate and hit traffic, then not so much)-
Slightly NSFW
And some classics proving you can be heavy as hell without needing a blast beat-

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I still like heavy metal. I'm pretty sure I stopped mentally maturing at 12 and have been faking it ever since.
You can dislike metal... but disliking pirate metal is a crime.
Now, we'll get bitchy little kids (this is to you saying that 'GTFO Poser' bit) screaming at people for calling bands like 'Avenged Sevenfold Metal, then trying to imply what YOU like is the TRUE FORM OF METAL (RAGHGHG!). Little tid bit of advice. If you think it's TRUE METAL, you'll need to grow up a bit more in the musical world.
Metal is Metal is Metal. All was generated from 1 basic source and branched off. Hence Death 'Metal, Power 'Metal', Speed 'Metal', Harmonic 'Metal' and so on. It's still METAL.

/me sweeps fringe across face.
I, for the most part, don't belong in this topic.
I am a pretty huge Cradle of Filth fan, though.

I enjoy my fair share of Metal. Personal favorite genre being Progressive Deathcore. Between the Buried and Me, Born of Osiris, Structures, After the Burial, The Contortionist, etc. Though I'll admit lately I listen to those bands less than I typically do.
Other than that, I enjoy Metallica, Protest the Hero, Tyr, Amon Amarth, All That Remains, Animals as Leaders, Ensiferum, Cancer Bats, Cynic, Human Error, Scale the Summit, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Black Sabbath, etc, etc.
I see the whole Metal-elitism as completely pointless, and I agree with Thiamor. Metal's such a diverse genre that it can't just be called "Metal". Hence the sub-genres.
As far as the "-core" genres go, I have no problems with them. I like my Metalcore and a Deathcore band here and there. Just like the rest of Metal, there's diversity in there. I personally don't like Asking Alexandria or Avenged Sevenfold, but I do like (most of) All That Remains' work, and they're considered Metalcore.
So, yeah. That's my two cents.
