I like how he was only a middling scholar in his day, but due to the luck of a huge stash of his writing being found after a book burning edict destroyed most other scholarly literature, his teachings rose to prominence.

Okay it's not so much its effects as it is how certain western beliefs parallel it. But yeah he's not even much of a philosopher, he just kinda collected stuff that was already stated and embraced and was popular as a result. Still interesting though. Taoists fuckin' hated him.

Straight guy who hugs me all the time just introduced me to hot punk guy I've enjoyed seeing around for a while... and his girlfriend. If you did not have that girlfriend, hot punk guy, I totally would have bought one of your bracelets, even though I can also macrame.
