there's no bloody way I could reach 200gb in two weeks. I have a 500gb cap myself...there's no way we'll ever get that high even with three people using it *rolls*

Seem to have used 35.6 MB within the last two days. Not too bad I suppose, but I'm not sure how long I'm going to have to stay without proper broadband...could be anything from 2 weeks to a month.

How the HELL do you go two days without breaking 40 MB of bandwidth? All I've done since turning on the computer less than half an hour ago is turn on my MUD, open Firefox to my homepages (woot/facebook/email), and make a post in the RMN forums, and that's 11.8 MB right there according to Windows. (5.5 up and 6.3 down) Since I play online games, I probably go through over a gig a day typically, but even if I didn't, I'm sure I'd break 500 MB a day even without going out of my way to download stuff.
There's stuff you can do to reduce how much bandwidth you're using though. If you really are capped for a whole month, you may want to seriously consider turning off features like Windows Update, automatic updates for Java and Flash, Antivirus liveupdate, etc. Anything that checks online constantly for new updates. Also, if your web browser's history and cache are turned off, turn them on. You can even set Firefox (and probably most other web browsers) to not load images automatically, which will cut out a couple hundred MB a day if you spend as much time online as I do.

My internet is unlimited, with the ability to download about 50 gigs in 30 minutes. Joy! Catch is, my hard disk is only 220 gigs, and now the entire thing is running extra slow from my last anime binge. Whew... Also, I am thinking about how I can make mecha work better in a balance issue and how to program in RGSS2, because it seems that is the only way I will accomplish what I am trying to make right now.

If you can stand not having javascript and images I would turn them off, they take up the majority of bandwidth for normal browsing.
When I had 7 GB a month I was living on 50 MB a day :j now I get 210. :>

just dodged a bullet as my laptop almost died and could've lost all of my files for the game I was working on. I had the RM project backed up on an SD card, but there were a lot of unstored WIP graphics I've worked on for months that werent added into the game. Next time I'll be more careful. Thank the aztec deities I managed to fix it.
