Exactly what is stopping you from wearing glasses?

Nothing. I already have glasses. I just want to wear plano circle lenses to look nicer. :P

I'm thinking about the best way to present an event idea.

things to do:
-Who to contact (Probs Kentona)
- how to present it (paragraphs of what would happen or just the reasoning for the event.....)

- Come up with a catchy name should it be accepted.
I still can't get it on... Blast my life!!!!!!!!

Anyway, a question for drivers in here: Assume that we have a big intersection like the one below, but instead of stop signs, we have traffic lights.

If I am car A, since the left side is clear, I am good to go. But what if on car C's side, the light for turning left turns green, we would crash into each other since we both try to turn at the same time. So, how should I know when I am clear to turn right? How can I tell if the cars on the other side can turn left or not? :O

If it were a stoplight intersection, and the other side had a turn left green arrow, you would have a red light. That's how you know if the other side is being told to turn left. You can still make a right on that red(unless a sign says no right on red light), but the other side has the right of way. You wait for all of them to turn left before you go. If your not sure, wait a few seconds to see what the other person is doing. If they do nothing, go. If they are turning left they should have a signal light on, but not always.

Plus, they usually have a separate lane for left turn only. The usual way things work is that left lane gets the turn left light first. When that turns red, the normal 2 way green light comes on. When that turns red, the side direction gets the turn left green light. Then 2 way green. And so on. Sometimes the 2 way green comes first, then that stops and the left turn green comes on. Also, most lights detect cars. So if there is nobody in the left turn lane, the left turn light doesn't come on. And sometimes one side sees red, but the other side has both left turn and normal green light.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

If car C has a green left turn arrow, then car A will have a red light.

If car A has a green light, then car C will have a solid green light, and not a left turn arrow; this means he doesn't have right of way if he's making a left turn. He will have to wait for car A before turning left.
Plus, they usually have a separate lane for left turn only.

Yes, this is what I was saying. Car C is on a separate lane for left turn only, so of course he would have his signal light on. If the light in front of me, A, is red, I can still turn right if the left side is clear. But how would I know if car C has a red or green light? Is the only way to tell is to wait for him and see if he tries to turn? Or I guess if B's direction has a green light, then C's must be red and I could go, right?

  • They don't always have their signal lights on.
  • Like it was said above, Car A will always have a red light if Car C has a green arrow.
  • If by chance you have a green light and you aren't sure whether to turn or not because you think Car C is going to turn with no regard to your right-of-way (a real possibility) then just play it safe and go through the turn slowly rather than gunning it to beat them out of the turn. Either that or hand wave them to pass.

These sorts of intersections can be incredibly tricky from those on the side of Car C as well. If Car A begins to pull out past the line and halfway into the goddamn intersection, then it's pretty unspecific for him whether he should turn left on a green arrow as well. Nevermind a green light, where things get even more unspecific.

My name is Isrieri, and I was the man in Car C.

Yes, this is what I was saying.

You didn't say that at all. You used a diagram for a different situation and didn't mention anything about the left turn only lane.

There are 3 scenarios where you will have a red light.

1) Everybody has red. In which case you can turn without worrying.
2) Car B has a green light, in which case you don't worry about Car C and just look for oncoming traffic to your left.
3) Car C has a left turn light, in which case he has the right of way and you need to wait. If it's all clear, you can go.

In all scenarios, be sure to look for pedestrians crossing. I sometimes forget and I've been driving for 14 years.

You will know what Car C has because the lights are all red for only a few seconds. If you are at a red light for more than...let's say 6 seconds, and Car B's lane isn't moving, then you know that Car C has a left turn signal.

It's not that tricky. If you come to a red light, you have to stop. That's obvious. Then you look at the perpendicular direction of traffic to see if it's red or green. If nothing is coming on the lane you are trying to turn into, look at Car C. It will only take a second to realize if he's stopped or moving in your direction. If he's making that left turn, let him go, and make sure nobody is behind him doing the same thing. When you are making a right turn at a red light, you never have the right of way.

If it's a solid green, then straight ahead traffic has the right of way. Left turning people will usually be in the middle of the intersection, in their lane. They need to wait for an opening or a yellow light.

Oh, I guess I wasn't being clear on that part. :D Thanks all of you for the great help, as always. :)

Listening to a guy describe the Simon Pegg 'trilogy' Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, End of the World(?)--it's cool to hear a layman be so enthusiastic about such things.

In unrelated news; I want to film an infomercial about a company selling IV drips as a Gamer food alternative. It'd be one of those 'Are you tired of having the hassle of eating while playing video games? Does this ever happen to you...'
And then all the examples would be ridiculous things to eat while playing games (and being so addicted you can't pause for five damn minutes). Such as like super buttery popcorn that would end up being juggled, or drinking juice, eating a steak dinner, all these stupid things you can imagine someone struggling to hold a fork , knife, cup, controller etc all at once... And it all just goes everywhere.
The solution???? Simply hook yourself up to an IV, and for a limited time, IV DRIP PRO will come with a free instillation of a perminent IV plug into your vein.
In the time it took for you guys to muddle through a perfectly normal intersection situation, I drove through. Experience counts.

Right, and it's an inexperienced driver who asked for help.
