pianotm, you are the most interesting user of RMN i've ever come across.

also isn't sanity a desirable trait?? you'd figure it would be a thing you'd want to have

Thank you.

Sanity isn't a trait at all. It's an abstraction. It's an idea that changes from person to person. It is an artificial measure imposed upon society, whose definitions and indications change from minute to minute.

Ask a psychiatrist what sanity is, he or she will give you a response out of a text book. Ask him or her to put in his or her own words, and no two people will say the same thing.

Furthermore, sanity is like voting. It's majority rules. If there are fewer sane people than insane people, the insane people become sane.

Here and now, we live in a society that is so rigid and prosaic that it can't accept abstractions and so its very efforts at control have become insane. Why else would talking with your mouth full or being religious be officially regarded as mental illnesses?

They have created this measure for human normalcy called "sanity" and are discovering that absolutely nothing fits.

That is an image of the Beast himself, Aleister Crowley. He is dressed as a magus in this picture and the book next to him is his...I suppose you'd call it his Book of Shadows, though I don't think he would call it that. Crowley was the founder of the tradition of Thelema, was one of the most recent great sorcerers in history, a prolific writer and poet, mountaineer, and adventurer, as well as working as a spy for the English government during the Second World War. He died in 1947. Gerald Gardner, the founder of Wicca claims to have met him and earned Crowley's approval.

I see. I read about it a bit on wiki. My boss was wicca. She probably still is but she's not my boss anymore. I read a bit about his guardian. I wish I had a super natural guardian, or guide. Or be spoken to by a voice to write. It would be pretty awesome.

I reflected it on the game I'm making, where their are many gods, but the god of gods only shows himself in secret, in which you will find his name, and hold his secrets.

It's because you just want one to swoop through the window and hand you a letter to Hogwarts... even if I am 31 now. >.<

Okay, and that they're fuzzy and awesome. <3

I finished my taxes. And as usual, I'm paranoid that I did something wrong and I'm going to be audited and indited. Or worse yet, that when they try to direct deposit my refund, they'll screw it up and it will be lost in limbo forever.

Just need to mail my city form tonight and I'm all set. Would be easier if I had a printer.
Sanity?

Hah, that's for the birds.

Looks like a marble, that ol' blood moon. Taken with a tablet and adjusted with Irfanview.

Well, I remember walking home from work one night at around 12:30 and saw one of these…”owls” swooping in from the trees and nearly scared me half to death. This was the exact same day that I managed to see a family of racoons crossing the street and into the park. It’s amazing what types of things you see during the night around here.

A family of raccoons? That's awesome! I've seen a family of cats, but never raccoons.

I'll tell ya what. One night earlier this year when I was out on a bike ride, I saw a couple of coyotes on the side of the road (one was actually in the road when I rolled up while the other was sitting back in the tall grass) where I used to go to school. We stared at each other for a while. I then proceeded to make a sort of long ear impression with my hands on top of my head and the one in the street grouped back up with the other and they watched as I rolled past on the way back to my house.

Wish I had a camera with me at the time. Oh well. :\

Okay, honest question:

What happens if you're late on your taxes by one or two days?

Man kind shall regret all the uses of birds!

Do you like bullet-hells, but think they're all too damn hard? Try Bullet Soul, the shmup so easy you can beat 1.5 stages of it while shitting in another room, apparently!

I actually was somewhat interested in this game until I saw how expensive it is (rare/out of print). Oh well, maybe the updated release coming out (unless it gets cancelled) will also be region-free and maybe even affordable. Also, hopefully better than this.
