GET HYPE
What a coincidence that this happens as soon as I finally get off my ass and really play Fallout 3.

now that every game these days is a sequel to a major franchise and that I haven't played the original games in the franchise, it means that I am being slowly shut out of new games.
And that's okay.
Thanks AAA studios!

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Let's be fair, you'd been looking for a better excuse to not play new video games for years.
author=Yellow MagicBecause life is hilarious, I bumped into potential future manager at the company HQ, and he told me that his role would also require pair programming too. WTF. What do I do now??? I wonder if I can go back to Sony and be like WAIT SORRY I CHANGED MY MIND
My best bet is a rotation within the company I'm currently in, which I have an interview for in a couple of weeks...I think. I asked when the exact date of the interview would be today, and didn't receive a response. Welp

I go to look at the weather and the news site that I go to for said weather coverage has their "top story" as the first thing you see before you can get to the radars. "Mansfield special ed teacher arrested for child sex assault". Thanks, I just wanted to see if there was any rain or how hot it was at this current moment of time, but now I'm reminded of how shitty "the people we trust" can be.
Elsewhere, I got one of my tweets favorited. Drop the confetti.

I actually can't, I tried listening through the whole OST again and couldn't find that choral melody.
So it's either something else like a Warhammer 40K track or two steps from Hell or it's in a different game in the franchise.
That I do not have the effort to pursue.
Yeah I put the OST on play after I read your post to see if I could pinpoint it and there are a couple of choral sections that are close but none I could definitely identify as the piece playing. Then again the fact most of the soundtrack is overlaid by the people in the clip does make picking it up a bit more difficult. They do state that it's Rome Total War though so I think that's what it probably is, you could always ask in the comments which track it is at that 4:35 point, they or another commenter will probably tell you.

Good. Indie games are better.

@Corfaisus: Get your weather from thefuckingweather.com. It's for when you don't want news stories or doppler pattern analysis or golf forecasts or videos of floods on the other side of the globe, you just want the fucking weather. You go there and type in your city and all you get is giant text saying "84 DEGREES?! IT'S FUCKING HOT." plus the high and low for the next four days.

For every AAA military FPS sequel, there's two dozen 2d retro platformers and survival zombie games.
I'm kind of over the idea that people working in their spare time with no budget making Bad Games is worse for the medium than entire companies with millions of dollars and the eyes of all the world upon them doing the same
like yeah cool Mr. Trendy Video Game Opinion Video played a bad game by a tiny opportunistic studio, I'm sure those bad practices trickle up from indies, somehow, to the multi-billion-dollar companies with more marketing budget than god and the devil too

That's because for every AAA game there's 100 indie games. Not saying AAA games are bad, it's just more great games come out of independent studios. They're generally more innovative. Spelunky, Papers Please, Binding of Isaac, The Stanley Parable, Mark of the Ninja, Nidhogg, Monument Valley, This War of Mine, Ori and the Blind Forest, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Journey, Shovel Knight, Super Meat Boy, Hotline Miami, Braid, Bastion. Name any game that takes a semblance of a risk concept-wise and it's most likely going to be an indie game. Of course, there are exceptions - Shadow of the Colossus, BioShock, Portal, and more recently Dark Souls, Pillars of Eternity (although kickstarted), Kerbal Space Program (technically funded by a company but still very much indie in spirit), Child of Light, Alien: Isolation, Cities: Skylines.
But the world is changing and indie games, like indie films, are showing they can take more risks and deliver more innovative products. It's just the way the world works, I'm not blaming the "corporations" at all. People are becoming more welcoming to new ideas, and the indie game industry is better than ever.
it's a thing of who's making the games, too. AAA stuff is generally headed by some fairly well-off dude with no really dynamic opinions, and filtered through the usual process until you come out with a product that assumes that the audience is going to be made up of uncontroversial nerdboys as well. in indie stuff we're seeing more marginalized groups putting their own perspectives up, and creating for an audience that very specifically lies outside what most AAA studios have decided it's most profitable to aim at.
the altgames movement is a big and exciting part of this -- focusing on support and sustainability, and opening the field up to people who've classically been shoved out.

Yeah, I mean the guys in AAA are super talented, they just have no creative freedom. Jonathan Blow and other indie developers are results of dudes who worked on AAA games but felt boxed in and wanted to have their own say. Dark Souls is actually the product of a relatively low-ranked dude who took over a failing game and repurposed it for his own vision - the studio didn't care because the game was going to fail anyway - and in the end, he became head of the company within years, a pretty much unprecedented phenomenon. So even the AAA games that are innovative often come from risks taken that people think wouldn't work.
Nowadays, indie games are all about franchises too. Sometimes it's about sequels and sometimes about devs. And there is so many of them, I'm completely flooded with good titles.
From my point of view only Bioshock and Shadow are real AAAs. Child of Light and Isolation are examples of AAA publisher trying indie approach and Paradox Interactive've never been your typical big house. His major cards are all alternative.

I'm pretty sure they're also set up so you don't have to play the previous ones to understand the current ones.
