WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

Really, scientists have theorized that water used to flow on Mars for years, that's nothing new; surface features that resemble channels on the planet have been known about for a long time. But finding out that there's still some today changes a lot of the math on how active we thought the planet was, and makes the possibility of microscopic life more likely.

I took a nap with my cat and my mind is fresh. I really feel like my past bout of brain diarrhea could've been avoided if I was just given a straight answer in the cheekbone thread instead of leaving me to my research, because that doesn't always work out.

Going off what Sated said, I think it'd do some good for the layman to simplify these things. I just started throwing cis in front of everything because everyone else was doing it and I figured it meant "same". Someone needs to make a pamphlet out of a novel for all the dummies like me.

Now what I want to find is a slew of in-no-ways-open-to-blantant-sexism-or-bias articles on the differences and similarities between male and female brains.

In absolutely simple simple terms, cisgender means you identify with the gender you were prescribed with at birth, and transgender means you don't. Of course, it's not always that cut and dry, but that's the gist of it.

Describing someone as cis or trans is unnecessary 99.99% percent of the time. It should really only come up when it's relevant to the conversation.


But, yea, language evolves and changes over time, and with it, so must we. Even if the dictionary hasn't changed, some words don't mean the same things they did 10 years ago. It's weird, right? I remember someone told me the exact definition of "game" as decided on by ludologists, and under that definition, something like League of Legends wasn't even considered a "game". But that's silly - it really doesn't matter what the official definition of a word is; it matters what other people think of when you say it.

I know it's tomorrow already and I'd said I'd be back to being a pragmatist, but nope. Still in idealist-land where the weather is always sunny and the clouds are fluffy and shaped like space mermaids and dragons.

Visually it wouldn't work as well because while it's right-side-up, the toast wouldn't fit fully into the slot as it would with the NES or a toaster. You'd have at least half the toast still showing.

There's also the fact that the shown model of NES is colloquially known as the "toaster".
