WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

Days like these, actually. Have neither of you seen Friends before? It rhymes with the next like:
"But she didn't tell you when the world has brought you down to your knees...
that
I'll be there for youuuuu~

Nope, days like this, song by The Shirells. Pre dates Friends by decades.

Well, mama said there'd be days like that.
days like this.

The point is valid, but the quote is erroneous.

I wasn't trying to exactly quote. I didn't want to quote exactly because "days like this" didn't feel quite right when saying it to someone else about their day; after all, I'm not having a day like that. (I did almost quote exactly, and if I had, I'd have put it in "quotes".) And thank you so much for "Mama Said". Friends, honestly...we need to plug Liberty into an old jukebox.

Funnily enough Liberty is supposedly even older than me and I go around using words like Sockdaloger and Guttersnipe for heaven's sake.

And Recusant, of all the archaic things.
Eh, while I have a decent spread of music, I'm lacking in the older jazz/non-popular areas (in fact, I'd go so far as to say I don't know much American music of the earlier eras that weren't super popular). 50s+ I've a fair few under my belt, but I don't actively seek out old songs and listen to them. I don't really actively seek out new songs either. If I stumble on something that's all well and good but I very rarely bother to listen to songs that are linked to me by others. Case point - I have yet to click that video. XD

Oh, alright, I'll click it. :/

Edit: Oh, yeah, I've heard that one before but not sure where. It just didn't stick with me. Meanwhile, the Rembrants version was on the radio a ton when I was a teen so it naturally made its way into my library.

It's interesting but the radio station I listened to the most as a teen only played songs from the 70s/80s/90s so that pretty much shows where my head is at with music. I do know some older ones (mainly country and super popular stuff, or songs my mum used to play) but otherwise it's mainly those eras and up.

Guttersnipe is a staple of fantasy genre, but not something I'd actually go around saying outside of specific one-time occasions where it'd be warranted. I mean, just because you know a word doesn't mean you're going to go around spouting them all the time - that'd be a pretty silly thing to do! XD

To be fair, most of my archaic knowledge of historical America comes from LackadaisyCats. Though having an American Grandfather probably helps.

Two of those aren't archaic for me. I use guttersnipe on a weekly basis, then again I am talking to guttersnipes when I say it, and I tend to land a Sockdaloger when I do.

My apologies TM, I was erroneous in calling your comment such.

Lib, every day we learn something new is a good day.

Also, a day you spend sitting by the Yarra with a a group of friends and a glass of SA Riesling in hand is a good day...so, I've had a good day.

I've had a pretty good day despite being falsely accused of thieftiness twice now.

Really good, actually! My friends in the CCC are all having a laugh about stuff and while I've done not a whole lot, not that I really can while MV is on the ifiring range, it's been good time with friends.

As for what I'm thinking right now? What to draw next... really.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

So I found out there was a befuddle quest 7 event while I was gone. If I'd been around and I'd had the time I would have participated, but alas. I see the full game hasn't been released yet, even though it's way past the projected release date. What's the deal?

That's so crazy, because KLUV's slogan is "Greatest Hits of the 60s, 70s & 80s" and I grew up listening to them practically every day.

You missed out on The Contours in Aussieland.

She missed out on some awesome music if her stations never went further back than the 70s. At least she (should have) got Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, and some Creedence Clearwater Revival with a station that goes back to the 70s, so that's some consolation.
so I helped my cousin build a firepit for my dad today. Felt so good to do something productive for a change, hah.

@nhubi, thank you again for posting Mama Said. I totally ripped off utilized the basic foundation of this song for another song I'm doing for our McBacon Jam 2 game, Shattered.
I'm thinking I should sleep, but the internet distracts me.
I got a decent amount of 60s through my mother and grandmother, and some 50s and 40s music through compilation tapes/cds of 'Best of the Best'. Mum had a huge CD collection, so I was well covered in certain areas. I just prefer 70s+ music a lot more bar a few songs, so I listened to them the most. I do have a head for lyrics, though, so when I am interested in a song I pretty much commit that to memory. XD

Ah, so you probably got a healthy dose of The Who, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Beach Boys, Doors, Hendrix, Bobby Darin, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, etc.
Growing up, I had none of that. My father's music collection consisted of Motorhead, Metallica, Blind Melon, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco, and Bob Dylan.

My tastes thus became a mixture of metal, hard rock, folk, old-school country, and noise pop.

Don't forget Jan and Dean and Gary Lewis & The Playboys.

I'm partial to "New Girl In School" and "This Diamond Ring" respectively.
