WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

PPACA / Obamacare was introduced in the House of Representatives by Charles Rangel. There was coordination in writing it but it wasn't introduced directly by Obama or the executive branch.

http://www.burbankleader.com/news/tn-blr-burbank-goes-back-one-more-time-20151013,0,3542327.story... So October 21, 2015 is upon us, and we still have no hover boards or standardized flying cars.

kentona... your avatar is disturbing me very, very much and I don't even know why. Maybe some hidden trauma from my childhood has come back to haunt me or something but dear god, it creeps me out. ;.;
That said, OMG we finally had some political talk without people jumping down others' throats?! PROGRESS! Let's party!

This is an unprecedented development. Give the participants some achievements, stat!
Anyways...
January hype is on. It's nice to come home to a GOOD news article every once in a while. Although, the news about the Liberals kicking Conservative ass has been pretty nice as well.
author=LibertyIt's actually not so creepy once you understand where it's from. The scene kentona's avatar is from is at the end. It's a demonstration of the costume's workings.

Although admitedly, i don't know why they chose to give the costume serrated teeth.
I'm not really sure what spawned this thought, but, I was thinking about my dad, and how he kept looking forward to a "White House wedding"?
That's probably the most political as my thoughts get.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

No... still creepy. >.<
If it's any consolation, it disturbs me on a deep emotional level too.
It's deep in the uncanny valley for sure. The teeth doesn't help.
Isn't there another video with the pig and one more animal? Or am I remembering something else?

... Oops. Yep. You're right. For some reason, my brain stopped working and I thought that it worked both ways since Obamacare was the thing that came to mind when I posted. Now I need to go figure out how that got rolling.
Looks like I can't government as well as I thought. Off to Guantánamo Bay I go.
FREE Red_Nova, FREE Red_Nova, don't fear Red, the DOD is looking at 3 really secure Prisons in I believe Utah, so you may be able to at least play in the snow after they move the prisoners :)
author=Solitayreauthor=SatedIt's a little more complicated than that. Legislatively there's very little the president can do. He can sign bills into law and generally set an agenda for what he'd like Congress to work on, but legislation has to originate in Congress and this Congress would rather chew their own arm off than give Obama anything. The Republicans can't even agree with themselves right now, it's gotten pretty sad.
I thought the problem for Obama was that a lot of his policies are blocked by the Senate or the House of Representatives or something like that.
So it's less that Obama's policies get 'blocked' but more they won't pass anything to begin with due to terminal gridlock. The president has less control over the U.S. government than most people realize.
One thing the president does handle is foreign policy, for which Obama has a decidedly mixed record.
That's what's going on now. It's not that the President isn't trying to make change, it's Congress stubbornly vetoing any bills the President sends, regardless of what they entail.
Presidents don't send bills to Congress, it's actually the other way around.
There is also the problem that most bills are not clean. Such as Kates Law to imprison those illigal Mexicans who are deported 5 times and have a felony on their record.
Someone attached another piece of law they either wanted to get through or they were trying to prevent Kates Law from passing in congress so they attached this bill in hopes of preventing Kates Law from getting approved.
