WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

Got any Dexreth amulets?

I've recently been thinking about starting a forum RPG based on The Dark Eye, a pen & paper system somewhat similar to Dungeons & Dragons, but with much more emphasis on roleplaying than on combat. It's not very well known outside of Germany, although - in my humble opinion - it's vastly superior to D&D. I'd probably just end up simplifying the rules somewhat and translating the terminology as I go.

Would anybody here be interested in participating in something like that?

touchscreen works well enough for some stuff and that works for me. it's okay if it doesn't for you corf. it's legal to have a device used primarily for one purpose be merely okay at something else that a lot of people find enjoyable. yeah, i know a touchscreen isn't the best input device for many genres... so what?

If the scream wasn't bad enough, the sound effect of being sucked into the moment from Z-targetting sure will get ya.
It all comes down to a subjective opinion i guess. The redeads and that god damn tomb were quite unsettling, but to me there really is no point of comparison from that to this

It comes completely out of nowhere, without warning, in what was supposed to be the safe place of the game, and it's pretty gruesome.

Speaking of horror games, i'm curious about Layers of Fear. Given that there has been no horror game that has truly scared me for a while now, i'm wondering if i should give it a try. It's still early access though and that bothers me, if not outright makes me kinda angry.

The scene itself has a sort of slow build-up before hitting you with the scare. It's kind of a less drawn-out Yeta/Blizzeta, in that it's not really scary when the game gives you adequate time to adjust yourself.

Jump scares in general are stupid, but there comes a point when it doesn't work going in the other direction, either.

Now, The Uninvited; that game had some shit. I played it last night and it's rather unsettling when you're just farting around in a hallway when suddenly the mysterious woman that you already know is a skeleton who's going to fuck your face appears with her back to you. You know what's on the other side and you still don't want to deal with it. That, I think, is where good horror lies. When it's too late to do anything, but you still have the illusion of a choice to get away. To see death in passing and being both far enough to turn and too close to run or call out.

(story time)
tomorrow i got paid, but i deposited the cheque anyways into the ATM, during lunch.
i then choose to consme one of the most vile things known to man kind.
a footlong meatball marinara, with doble meat. everything on it, buffalo and ranch sauce. no add more buffalo sauce. wtf i said everything, there is no lettuce!!!

I wanted lettuce...
Skip the salt please though, thanks.

the foreign workers told me to hold it a certain way (don't want to fall apart now). also seemed to be talking about me in a strange foreign language. (oh cmon it's just a double meat, meatball!)

as i listened to the 80's synth horror in my mode of transport. the self sabotage was already committed.

However!
in a futile attempt to neutralize this transgression upon both my body and life. i washes it all down with, zero cal orange vitamin water.

in retrospect, it was not worth the $14, wasn't even full after the fact.

plus, i should of just saved it for gas.

Just in case you didn't think Australia's fauna wasn't hardcore insane enough...

"Researchers have preliminary evidence pointing to Australian birds spreading fires in order to force out their prey from protected grassy areas."

...they now spread FIRE.

That is not new news to us. >.<;

And the trees deliberately explode to spread the flammable sap so that the fire spreads too. Hence why Summer is a Very Bad Time in Australia, especially in the bush. We are ultra careful about cars throwing out rubbish (cigarettes/glass bottles especially) and have a tip line to dob in people who do it. Because fuck those assholes, that's why. Tryin' to kill us all. :<
yeah well I saw a really big crow the other day

how about that

Ahahahahahahahahaha

$2 to see anime babes in their underwear. Is this where tito went?

Also, why isn't RPGMaker one of the popular tags for this? It's very clearly RPG Maker and even makes use of one of the RTP songs for its trailer.

@Corfaisus> Both games seem to be terrible. The first one's clearly bad. Heck, I could map better with my eyes closed, and I'm not even that good...

The second one... got quite some really negative reviews complaining about things ranging from general blandness to over-reaction of the developer(s) towards said negative reviews. I can't confirm any of this, but that is what I'm seeing.

Honestly, I'd rather neither of them be known as RPG Maker games. They'll only make things worse.

In other news, it's Valentines day on Sunday! Lot's of sales going on. Gotta take advantage XP
Btw, doesn't TWD comes back on the 14th? What a perfect setting for a romantic evening, Steam sales and Zombie drama. xD
