The future has yet to be defined. Therefore, you fear what is unknown, that which you have not learned. How can you learn if you fear that which you have not learned?

Well, I would argue that you can learn even if you fear what's to come. Fear only stops you from learning if you let it stop you from interacting with the world. But in the case of the future, it will come whether you try to hide or not, so there is no way to avoid interacting with it. It is confidence that stops us from learning when we are interacting. If we face the future with the mindset that nothing can harm us, we will not be open to being changed for the better.
Which isn't to say that fearing the future is a healthy thing to do. It is best to keep a certain rationality, come what may, to best accept whatever is thrown your way.

No, it wasn't bullshit. One of the things that most scientists fail to realize is that science is a branch of philosophy, not vice versa. I didn't say that fear of the unknown was a barrier to learning, but I did imply that it's a hindrance.

yesterday was weird. i tried hard to speak to the people around me, everyone. and they all had so much to say. everyone was worried in there own way. i feel i do not give them the chance to speak, enough.

and the damnedest thing was when i got home at 8PM. i was met with the fact that i had forgotten to drive my wife somewhere important to her. completely utterly forgot.
now, it's not the end of the world. but it was a weird feeling.

Hello, happy valentines day. It is the day for celebrating love and friendship, and in my case i celebrated with friends. It had been a long time since i played an entire round of monopoly.
Okay, games I would not pick to play on a day about love and friendship: Monopoly. That game was deliberately created to destroy love and friendship and good will.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Monopoly is a game where the winner is determined in the first three minutes, and then the winner spends the next three hours just making everyone else suffer and there's nothing they can do about it.

OMG! They did it! They took out Carl's eye! I never thought they would have the guts (Heh;) to do that on TV, considering they never cut off Rick's hand; but they did it. I wonder if they're going to let him have a gruesome scar like in the comics, though. Or if they're going to put some fancy eye-patch on him, so he can still be the pretty teenage boy of the show...
Also, I wonder if they're going to keep Jesus, or if they're going to name him something else for the easily offended.

I noticed that, for some reason, trying to access my youtube account from RMN leads me to a "This user doesn't exist" error once the page loads, if i access it from google, i appear just fine. The url is identical in both places.
All of my friends got the same "user doesn't exist" error when clicking on my youtube link on my RMN profile, but could enter easily from facebook or twitter.
I wonder what causes this.
