CloseI'm glad some people here are for it so far since RMN is full of talented developers, and this will give some people a chance to draw out some MM-style Sprites (art is optional if you're good at it) to show off for the fan base community. To answer Sol's question, this would be Classic as it would be the easiest to work with given the assets now available for use thanks to the Upgraded Mega Engine. Currently there is no engine or I should say reliable engine to work with Mega Man X but...
There IS a Megaman X Engine in the works, but is not completed yet, but it will be one of the most accurate X1-X3 engine out there sometime this year, so I'll let you guys know when it is out. I'll link to it anyway if you want to know what it does -

Now if this event really becomes a thing, the only question is if we're going to limit to classical 8 bosses or should we throw in many as we can from the event participators to be the ultimate Mega Man Experience.
Another thing (optionally) I really hope we can do where many fan developers have failed to do is to have this be like the ultimate story of telling Zero's past, and there is some official information to work with to build this story around him. Now I don't want anything like super edgy because I don't like Cataclysm theory the fans made up, Inafune even points out Zero didn't cause atrocities other than being violent & disobedient to where Wily had to seal him away (this was the mysterious part of the official story of Zero, it does not explain too much on what went on between Wily & Zero, and we only got a glimpse of that in X4), but it is up to you all if you want this to be that kind of story or let it be the classic Megaman defeats Wily once again kind of deal.

I'm playing X right now.
This shit is very unintuitive. What the heck is going on? I just defeated the ice penguin, and now I can't dash anymore and am back in the tutorial level? Also the level resets every time I accidentally hit a rocket with my mega buster? what even is this?
Edit: Also, it happens far too often that a health drop just disappears the moment it touches the ground, making the game unnecessarily hard. Do I have a broken rom or something?

It might be the choice of emulator you're using.
By the way..does anybody remember what RPG maker game this was? Right at the beginning you go to this bar to see this band, and the Hero starts some shit up to where this Midget gets all pissed off, and you start a battle with him while this Kid Rock Song was playing in the background lol.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Megaman X is the superior Xperience. Haaaaaaa... It was the first Megaman game I owned (had read the crap out of them in Nintendor Power tho) and oh man. When you are...6-7? back in the day it was amazing. The fluidity, graphics, music, just worked.
Then I got the X Collection for the Gamecube. 4 was ok, bit animu and its story was weaker, but overall not too bad. Zero was OP tho. 5 felt a bit cheaper than 4 in production quality, I think they got rid of the animated cutscenes from 4, and the story was even weaker. Then came 6. 6 was not good. If you wanted to play as Zero from the almost start you were boned due to no upgrades. Deathspikes everywhere, terrible balance, and even bugs. Poor X, you're not the robut you used to be.

I've seen a lot of people say some funny shit that would be worthy I'd think. but then again, I'm not a vegetable, I don't that have sense of humor. They never get to the root of the jokes, they just beat around the bush.
