WHAT MOTIVATES YA?
Posts
listening to music filled with action, or watching supermoves from fighting games, or fighting scenes like the avatar (going on right now hehe)
ITS SIMPLE just awesomness of story moments mostly based on fear or other physical pressure on main characters.
This is something I've had an issue with since I began making games. To this day, I've never fully completed a project. My current project makes it very easy to want to quit because of everything I have envisioned for it. But I've found, that just doing what I can here and there to progress the game gets me going. Knowing I've added another cutscene or town, normally keeps me in the fray for that much longer.
I also can't work unless I have classical or VGM playing. It normally has to be the music that plays for the specific part of the game I'm working on as well.
Heh, call me strange.

What motivates me? Challenging myself, pushing 2k3 to the limits, doing unique things what others consider impossible, and so on.
Progress motivates me. When I stop working on something, then my motivation is gone. But once I start tinkering around again the fire in me builds back up.
It's also fairly vicious since real life gets in the way of game making, meaning I'm often stopping for other things and losing focus. I usually dedicate a good weekend or free days to work on stuff. I can't work on a project 7 days straight. I must take breaks. As long as I have something to do each week I'm fine.

I read reviews of TurboGrafx RPGs by the Brothers Duomazov:

Learning about all these old RPGs is very inspirational.

What motivates me? Well, I have TONS of ideas for stories floating around in my head, so that's never an issue. The deal breaker for me is whether or not I have proper resources (graphics and music) for my ideas. I don't want to use rips at all anymore, and that makes it a lot harder to get anything done. Without resources, my ideas just hang in limbo or littered throughout my hard drive in various text documents.
