lol it kinda like kentona is cheating because he/she is the owner of the site lolz.
but anyway it just a joke... but seriously kentona why you put yourself in the list? your the owner and you can add yourself any amount of makerscore you want but it is unfair or it is fair?
Kentona never cheated his makerscore, just saying.

What is this "true" makerscore?
MS without any community chest points, or "lol i made the site"/"lol i'm holb" achievements. Basically, MS based entirely on game dev/game talk.

Yup. Listen to Jude, jomar. He's older, wiser and more sexually experienced than you.
btw, I was the one who gave holb and ankylo their achievements, and was the one who decided that 1000ms is an appropriate amount for donating. We only SURVIVE because people have donated, so... without them there wouldn't even BE a site to have makerscore on. And without WIP, holb and anky, there wouldn't be an RMN.
That's my rationale.
Me, I just make and write a lot of shit and participate in community projects. I got a lot of MS from running and joining community projects.

Calling it "TRUE MS" is a bit jerk-offish of me, yeah, and I understand your rationale. I just think it's fair to also show off who's the top dog gam mak-wise. It is a game dev site, after all!
I am particularly interested in web traffic stats, such as what site does RMN get the most referrals from and what site do people go to the most from RMN.
Would it be possible to get these?

You'll have to ask holbert. He has the google analytics account, and it's tied to his personal email.

You should consider looking at kentona's profile, particularly the list of games. He has a lot of highly-rated submissions and that's where his makerscore comes from. He had that makerscore before he was appointed as site administrator.
so he didn't cheat on getting that much maker score?

No. He made quality games, lead quality projects, and was a team player for years before he was ever on staff.

so this site is up by donation and advertisement?
because i seen some ads here when my ads-blocker is off(i don't want to turn it off since Google ad-sense is showing ads with virus because of my location)
but anyway you can think of other ways to keep this site up (in case of emergency) like some premium/regular user can sell games here and you get 40% of the profit and the developer get 60% of the profit...
is a win-win situation right?
and i have another question is the server of rmn is owned by you or rented form other company?
We rent the server from a hosting company. It costs $150 a month.
While hosting commercial games for a fee was considered in the past, it was dropped. There is a certain expectations that comes with a contract such as that that we hobbyists are simply not prepared to meet. We aren't really a business.
I also have to pay taxes on any ad revenue we get (and I haven't gotten yet because I only signed up for Google Adsense with my account a couple of months ago and it has to cross a threshold before Google pays out). But luckily we have some buffer from the initial donation drive from many one-time donators, and we have a lot of generous souls who donate monthly and still get the odd one-time donation. We've been very fortunate.
