Ok Im new here and trying to learn my way around. However Im from RRR and I do not see some of the basic forum topics im used to seeing, such as the a game showcase where you would post the games your making, or a recruitment thread for professionals looking to hire ppl for there teams.

I looked into the review section and was just confused...
I heard about a screen shot thread but once again I was just lost. I hope this is just due to me being new here and maybe I have missed something basic.
I guess my question is...is there a place to post your games you make and a actually recruitment topic?
Submissions > Submit Game

We don't allow game showcasing on the forums. We have gameprofiles for that.

For recruitment requests, you can either make a request blog on your gameprofile (once it is accepted) or make a new post in Help & Requests.

Welcome to RMN, by the way!

Oh..well that is a interesting answer. No game showcasing...I cant believe it lol. Why would someone play a game here that they no nothing about? That they havent seen or been given updates throughout the creation process?

And for recruiting you would actually have to go around and read individuals profiles??

This will take some getting used to, but if every other rpg site is dying I dont have much of a choice lol.

Thank you for the welcome:)
The reasoning is because game profiles are simply put far better than threads for a game in basically every way possible except visibility on the forums themselves. It already has more organization than your average post. Every game profile comes with a page for your game summary, images, and downloads instead of having to embed everything in a thread and hide tags to keep it manageable. Users can comment on each page except images because users instead can comment on each individual image! Users can post reviews and it will become part of your game profile as well with their own page and comments instead of being buried with the rest of the comments. You can post blogs on each game profile when you want to post updates, ask for help, or just about anything relating to your game. Users can comment on that and blog posts and the latest images appear on the front page to improve visibility. You can also add your own pages for additional content. Want to make a list of characters in your game? Make a page for it! ps users can comment on that page too.

Users can subscribe to games too or submit their own media such as fan art or Let's Play/Try/Fails. Subscriptions to game profiles mean when new content or comments get posted they get a flashing indicator in the top of their screen which tells them that there's an update and their notifications page that has more details on what was updated.

You can also stylize your game profiles to your liking via CSS unique to your game profile instead of being stuck with the forum stylesheets. You can do all kinds of shit not possible with just BBCode!

The game profiles are all part of the games database too so when people come looking for games they have far more searching power than the most active games on forum threads.

I recommend you try it, submit your game (if any) or look around and subscribe to somebody else's game. A game profile does everything a forum thread does and so, so much more.

Well that does sound very cool and fancy, yet to me it just seems hidden. But im a open minded kinda guy so ill give it a chance/try! Ty for the very informative reply:)
It's only hidden if you look in the forums. Everywhere else you look you see games, games, games.
If you go to the frontpage instead of directly at the forums, you'll see games everywhere and spotlights.
And if you want RM games you'll end up either looking at the front page or searching at the games section.

There are people who don't do that here?
Also every time you see a game that is remotely interesting or cool-looking, you can hit the subscribe button to get notifications for updates to that page. The latest/buzzing content gets previewed on the front too so visibility really isn't a problem at all so long as you're doing something.
Also, your Request blogs will automatically be shown in the Help & Requests forum, and your Game Design bogs will be automatically be shown in the Game Design forum.

Lastly, gameprofiles get way more hits than forum posts.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I don't actually download or play games, I just talk endlessly about making them, so yes my bookmark goes straight to the forums. I am bad.
My bookmark is the Latest Posts section... Screw the games, I gotta know where the latest drama is taking place! xD

But yeah, RMN is awesome. (For the most part, anyway.) Long live to RMN! o/
