CloseWhat is your goal? are you a hobbyist? are you willing to become something far superior than that? take things so serious you end up doing this for the rest of your life? as in, live your life making profits off your area of work?
My primary goal is to finish the game I've been working on in various forms since 2001. Once that's out of the way, and I've got a new job and had the wedding, I hope to be able to set aside some capital every so often with the eventual goal of hiring some other staff and developing other games I've got kicking around my head (whether using RM or another tool).
What'll probably happen is that I'll spend another 30 years not finishing Tundra and you'll all be here listening to me bitch about it. :P

This is not quite "as a developer", but I wrote a lot, painted a little, but it didn't result in anything very consistent, so one day I got a computer (for proofreading in fact...), and being naturally interested in anything creative, played "tons" of strictly amateur RPGs, so learned a bit how 2k3 worked and eventually set up to make a game myself but lacked the motivation I guess, I sometimes still "dream" I'll write a book someday.

I'm a composer primarily, but I do have tons of games waiting to be made come alive in my head.
I would love to make videogame composition more than a hobby (working it as a job and also volunteering for other projects).
But in addition, I would like to make, or be a part of a team that creates games. The only thing is, I feel as if my contribution (writer/composer) is lower on the totem pole as far as importance when it comes to game creation. Plus, I've had more experience as a composer for others than as a writer of games, though I would absolutely love to do so!

Being an artist would be nice, but not very realistic. Regardless, I have a lot of time to think it over and practice. Plus, I'm very good with words, so writing wouldn't be a waste of time either.

Always wanted to make games, but didn't want to be too professional, but I have talent, need improvement, that's all, I just need to stop being so cliché or make new projects that are going to be interesting for me to work on.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Seems like half the people on this site are female, or at least a good third of them :o If I were the same flirtatious dumb jock I was 5 years ago, I'd have been banned by now.
Anyway, serious answer : I'd love to be a full-time writer. Probably won't happen though, as I'm not willing to compromise my artistic integrity in favor of the almighty dollar or any of those various awards pretentious twats like to gift each other with.
I might start a side-business as a freelance writer though. Assuming I don't go ahead with my VG company.
