I am not going down the path of Ignore Game in this minor update.

That settles it then and that's certainly your right to do so. Something to keep in mind for future update.

Do you mean "not appear" as in a filter per individual, that filters out what they don't like?

Yes, that's what I had in mind. Everyone would then have a frontpage which showcases games that interest them in screenshots, blogs and other sections. I think it might also encourage people not to blogspam. Individuals would who would constantly submit mediocre content would then end up being ignored by most. Blogs which don't interest us wouldn't bump other blogs off the front page depending on how your filters are set up.

Creation's point about having a system in place to ignore a game by automation is kinda iffy. Sure, there's going to be games that I don't care about, and/or am frustrated by how much attention they get. Yet, having them just not appear seems... I dunno. I think "wrong" might be what I was looking for, but since I'd be ignoring them anyway, would I really be missing out on anything? I have no idea where this thought is going anymore.

Not sure I get your point either to be honest. If you're going to ignore a game anyway, why have other projects which you find more interesting on the front page? You'd have nothing to lose really.

I assure you I'm no where NEAR as STUPID as one might think.

I personally think you can only filter if you're a member. Otherwise it shows up like normal.
Feedback:
it's Kenton A.

Notes:
-diamond behind the letters for the RMN logo.
-redundancy bad
-buzzing thing - shouldn't have to be put into here, if it has a tab.
-support section > offer vendor or donate
-latests - remove from frontpage. These can be accessed elsewhere
-Latest Game Download make an exception > that is good to know
-Buzzing games can stay, and feature it more prominently
-Random/Feeling Lucky? button - could be fun

I get the sense from you that its not so much the elements that are on the frontpage, but how I (mis)use them.
So, based on some of the feedback about the frontpage, I rejigged a few things in my prototype

I am not sold on the "Game Quilt" think on the lower left - it seems a little too imposing, but I kept it in there for now. There will be a spot for Buzzing Games and some sort of Random images/games, though!

RMN Channel is a youtube video. (We have a youtube channel, you know)

I just kind of stuck Recent Comments in there, and kept the Bulletins, but I am not 100% sure on that, either.
Holy crap! That prototype looks awesome, and I love that the recent posts may be coming back (I know a lot of people hated it back in the RMN3 days, but I always liked it. I was much more active back then because I was able to keep up with the latest threads without checking each individual sub-forum.

Not bad.

I personally liked seeing who posted the review/media/blog/download, and what game it's for. Instead of just the title.

I really like the layout on the left.

Edit : though the "Play games" part is missing, which I find really interesting (hadn't noticed).

if i had an allowance, i would give it to rmn

I personally think featured games should get more attention! After all, they are FEATURED.

Also, I think you should incorporate themes, specifically a BLACK theme, because the whitish greyish crap is really annoying compared to black in my eyes. And if you were to change the "RMN" to diamond, I am assuming it won't be black so one could see it. And the text should be white.
^ Yeah, what he said. Relegating Feature status to a box the same size as the other stuff, well, being Featured becomes as meaningless as an Oscar.

You don't need such a huge display for Events/Announcements. All you need is a simple horizontal banner with color/design schemes per event. Hell, just make the current form glow like Notices does.
Featured games will remain the default banner :\

EDIT: I mean, if I hover over the Misaos Nominations tab on the frontpage right now, the featured game doesn't get any less "featured". I admit I don't understand your gripe.
In your last prototype, Featured Game is shoved off to the side. But upon closer examination, I see what you did thar. Sorry :o
My personal opinion is that Featured Game shouldn't be a tab to begin with, but that's just me.

Is that RMN Channel video embedded? I don't know if that's a good idea for a homepage.
'Downloads' shouldn't be downgraded to text status. When people upload something, they're hoping to attract immediate attention and a thumbnail does 1000x the job text does.
I've always thought Latest Screenshots disappear too quickly. Another row or two, increasing the page vertically, wouldn't hurt. I think.

And I like Archeia's shot with the text/thumbs swapping sides. It's a little more friendly for the dying breed of people who still use 800x600 monitors.
A link that says "see more" for each section like What's Buzzing and Latest Downloads. So buzz isn't limited to 4 games, and such.

Just a simple idea. Most likely people will not like it.

Buttons to the side (would be more, obviously) of the banner will change the banner to the subject. Like featured game, and so on. Arrows will lead to a new image of that subject, and is clickable.

Same thing for the bottom boxes.

Then hover over it, says name, who it is by. Number of downloads.

Just wanted to share the idea.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Why can't I post a comment on an image 30 seconds after I post a comment in a forum thread? ...Well, I can answer that myself, obviously you guys added flood control. Which is fine, but that's overkill, especially since it deletes everything I typed, and hitting the back button doesn't retrieve it (it goes back to the previous page I was at instead of going back to the version of the page where I'd typed stuff)

You're probably like "man anything you typed in 30 seconds can't be that hard to re-type," and in this case that was true, but at some point in the future I'm going to have typed out a giant hour-long post in my forum game, and I'm going to switch tabs to comment on something, and then I'm going to switch back and hit the post button on my hour-long post, and the flood control is going to delete it. I know this because I CAN SEE THE FUTURE.

So yeah, flood control is fine, but either it needs to not irretrievably delete my post, or it needs to be less strict.

Just wait 30 seconds. Really, do some jumping jacks or push-ups or something for 30 seconds.

I don't mind waiting 30 seconds, I just mind when I forget to wait 30 seconds and it deletes the post I spent an hour typing.
Question/possible request:
If I give a user Developer status, will they be able to edit the project pages? Or is there a way to give a user permission to do that? If not, the addition of a new status (Manager? Co-Lead?) would be sweet.

edit: I prob'ly posted this in the wrong thread. oh well
